[Prompt: What happens when you kiss your longtime high school crush?]

Freshman year of highschool is when you first met. You and the schools legendary "cold prince." Ah, you could still hear the giggles in the hall when he first transferred to your school. The clink of his earrings and the perfectly messy mop of brown hair that frames his seemingly flawless face. Already he seemed like a dream. But that's not what stirred up teenage hearts the most. Under those long delicate eyelashes of his was a gaze that could only be described with one word. Chilling. And so, of course a man with such eretheal beauty yet such a harsh gaze could only be known as the "cold prince." But over the past 3 years of high School, this depiction of him was never what made your heart race.

Pfft. You couldn't help but chuckle to yourself as you watched the "cold prince" stuff his cheeks with marshmallows.

"Imf almosht got tem allf " He tried to say, his mouth full to the brim with the soft little sugar snacks.

"Hyunjin you're gonna choke if you try to swallow all of those" you warned.

But he shook his head in response and surprisingly managed to down all the marshmallows in one go. You smiled to yourself as you always did when he acted like a fool (which by the way was 90% of the time). This was what made your heart race. This shy, silly, dramatic, and cute boy. This side of him that no one knew.

"Told you I could do it y/n!" He stuck out a hand to you "now pay up"

"You sure you want my $5?" You smirked, leaning towards him on the carpet of your bedroom floor.

He leaned in even closer, his hot breath tickling your lips. "Depends luv" he whispered "what do you have in mind?" Your heart skipped a beat. Aghhh you hated when he did this. When he stood right on the line, the unofficial territory between friends and....well more. It made your heart jackhammer in your chest. But it always muddled your brain and left you wondering...does he....think of you ...like that?

Ahh so frustrating! You shook your head snapping out of it. Trying your best to seem unaffected by the proximity, you plastered on your signature playful look. Licking your lips, you leaned in even closer, and in his ear you whispered, "Don't act like you don't need help on your math homework."

Immediately he turned a bright shade of crimson. He knew he'd been beaten once again. You leaned back chuckling, "ah Hyunjin Hyunjin. You never change"

He crossed his arms, refusing to meet your eyes, "I-I don't n-need it!!!"

"You sure about that?" You eyed his paper. Only 3 of the 16 problems were answered, and you already knew the first 2 were wrong.

"Hmph" he scooted even further from you. Dramatic as always.

You rolled your eyes, smiling. "You're lucky we're best friends. Otherwise I wouldn't put up with this and help you"

You slid over to him, expecting him to slide away again. But surprisingly he sat there. Huh. You leaned down towards his paper, attempting to mentally solve the first problem.

Grabbing the nearby pencil you began to explain, "Ok so here you..."

After about a 3 minute explanation, you put down the pencil, "...and that's how you get x squared, not 6. Got it?"

No response.

"Hyunjin I know you're not good at math but I also know you're good at English. Use your words my dude." You teased, still looking down at the paper.

Still no response.

Your face grew hot in embarrassment. What's up with him? It's not like you two don't usually joke around like this. Had you misread the room? Is he really angry?

"Hey" you said softly, slowly looking up at him. But instantly your face grew 10x hotter as you were face to face with him. Since when did he get this close to you? His lips were only centinmers from yours.

You didn't know what it was. Maybe there was something in the air. Or maybe something about simplifying polynomials was sexy. Nevertheless, whatever it was it was, you instantly got a boost of confidence. Your viens filled with a buzzing energy, so much so that if you didn't do anything, you swore you'd explode. And so you did it.

You leaned in, closing the little distance that was between you, and felt the soft warmth. His lips. It was a quick peck really. A little clumsy and awkward quick press on the lips. But it felt like the first time going down a water slide. Exhilarating. And all too short.

Instantly your eyes fluttered open, and you were face to face with a dumbfounded Hyunjin. Mouth open, eyes wide, and speechless. You both sat there in silence, waiting for one of you to at least say something. Finally the unbearable tension got the better of one of us.

"T-that was my first kiss" it came out barely a whisper.

No way. His first kiss?!? The schools heartbreaker has had less kisses than you?!And you wasted his first one on yourself?!? You looked down in embarrassment, slightly ashamed. Ahh stupid stupid stupid. Y/n why did you do that?!

"But..." he hesitated before continuing, "...I liked it. A lot."

Instantly you shot up, looking at him in shock. He...liked it? Really?

This time he leaned in, barely grazing your lips he said, "how about we go for a second one?"

Those words were enough to drive you over the edge. You pressed your lips against his. This kiss was longer and more passionate. It was more like the first time drinking hot chocolate. Sweet and addictive. Leaving you craving more.

And he evidently felt the same because before you knew it his lips were devouring yours, his hands tangled in your hair, the sound of his homework papers crunching underneath his shifting weight.

And finally when he pulled away, he stared into your eyes. His gaze wasn't "cold" as many thought. Instead it was scorching hot enough to set your cheeks ablaze once again.

"How many kisses was that?" he whispered.

Pfffft this dork. You giggled to yourself.  "I thought you didn't like math?" You tilted your head to the side, a playful grin growing on your face.

"Mmmm" he leaned in closer again, "math doesn't seem so bad anymore."
