I sat at the far end of the café with my books opened in front of me. I took a sip of my hot chocolate and looking at my laptop. The air is filled with the smell of bitter coffee and baked goods. I tapped my fingers anxiously looking around feeling a bit out of place. The café was fairly packed with soft lo-fi music playing in the background. I looked around taking in the modern black and white aesthetic of the shop.

The glass doors were pushed open and walked in a bored looking Maison. He looked around with a slight frown untill he spotted me. He was dressed in black ripped jeans a white t-shirt that hugged his defined body and a leather jacket hanging over his shoulder by his fingers and a laptop gripped in the other hand. He sat down across from me not saying anything. I smiled at him but he ignored it making me regret doing it in the first place. He opened his laptop and called the waiter to make his order.

"So I've written like three paragraphs of the essay" I said showing him my laptop he read it though and simply nodded.

"I've written some too we'll just combine them and go over it to make sure it makes sense." He said.

We sat in silence working. I occasionally looked at him he had a slight frown on his face. I made sure not to stare too long so he wouldn't notice. A few minutes later his phone rang.

"Hey man... You forgot your keys didn't you... I'm at the café... Fine... " With that the conversation ended.

Some moments passed and Scott walked in the cafe. He looked around and smiled when he spotted us. I fought the urge to smile back and just looked down at my laptop.

"Dude Krista is a crazy bitch. You know she hid my clothes and car keys this morning, she even fucking tried to hide my fucking phone and got all mad when literally anyone called me." Scott said just as he sat down.

"You always attract the crazy ones huh?"

"But she was so good last night. Either way I ain't seeing her again." Scot said and turned his gaze to me finally noticing my presence. "Hey ah... Mark right?" I nodded. "Why don't you come to Tyler's party this Saturday?"

"I don't think Mark likes those kinds of things" Maison answered.

"No, uh actually I want to go." I said nervously. Maison narrowed his eyes at me while I smiled sheepishly.

"Atta boy, see you then ." Scott said clapping my shoulder taking keys from Maison and leaving. I watched him until he dessapeared.

"You have a little drool over here." Maison said amusement present in his voice.

"Shut up."I said looking down at my book. I felt him still looking at me and I looked up at him and frowned. "What?"

"Are you really gonna go?" He questioned confused.

"Yeah, why?"

"It's just that I've never seen you at those kinds of things, I thought it wasn't your thing."

"Well maybe it will start to be."

"Sure dude."

"What about you?"

"Well, even if I don't feel like it Scott will just drag me there."

"Why don't you just say no."

"Because he's all I've got."

"Oh, how come?"

"My parents died when I was twelve and everyone pretended to give a shit about me because of the money they left me. Everyone treated me like shit until Scott's mum found out and took me in. Scott stuck to me dragging me everywhere so I didn't feel left out and alone so it kind of became a habit."
