Once upon a time, in a faraway land: secret eyes were on Iris as she ran out onto the balcony as fast as her poor shoes could take her. Her enchanted dress was billowing behind her as she continued to speed up the stairs to reach the seating area for the most important day of her entire life: Legacy Day.

"Oh, Hex! Gonna be late, gonna be late!" she mumbled as she ran. "I hope there's still a good seat left!" When she finally made it to the steps of the balcony, she was, unfortunately, prepared for the scene she was about to witness.

Wait a spell, why should I start at Legacy Day? After what we did for Raven and Apple, I'm not going to give her a backstory? Scratch all that. I'm doing this my way.

Listen up as I tell you a story: the story of Ever After High. A high school for the teen sons and daughters of the most famous fairytale characters who ever lived. But this year was like no other for anyone in the land of Ever After, especially at Ever After High.

Iris' Tale: the Story of a Roybel

It was the year of Legacy Day; a huge day where the kids pledged to the whole magical world to follow the same path as their fairy tale parents. Mom and Dad always argue about this with Royals and Rebels and blah, blah, blah.

"Good to see you're enjoying your practice time, Brooke," Iris giggled as she walked around the courtyard of the majestic school. Oh, yeah; and she can hear us just like Maddie can.

"Hey! Iris!" said a small voice from behind the young girl. She swiftly turned around only to get knocked over onto the pavement. Iris and the figure began to stand up as they belted out with laughter.

"London! How many times have I told you not to go zipping into me like a lightning bug." This was London Pan, the daughter of Peter Pan; the boy who said he would never grow up. Well, I guess he changed his mind.

"How was your summer? I hated being stuck with all the guys at camp the whole time, but you know how Dad is," London groaned. Iris chuckled as she answered.

"Mine was okay. Mom was making me practice my powers a little bit, but for the most part, I had a blast with invites to Briar's parties and stuff. I even got invited to Apple's place for a meeting with her mom! That was definitely an interesting day...so many apple deserts," she answered with a dreamy look in her eyes.

"Definitely sounds like one of your dreams come true." London smiled. Iris smiled back as they began to walk into the Great Hall of the school. Although, once they were halfway up the stairway, her smile slowly slipped away. "Hey, what's wrong? You're not smiling anymore."

"I just remembered that because it's our Legacy Year I have to take good and evil classes. Because I'm in so many stories I have to learn good and evil spells. What the hex is everyone gonna think when they find out?" Iris began panicking. London quickly ran to her and hugged her tight to calm her down. She slowly pulled away and looked into her best friend's shining eyes.

"Relax, no one will think any different of you. You're Iris Evermore! Everyone loves you!" Just as she said that the pair made it to the top of the stairs and into the Great Hall. A commotion began when the students noticed the pair.

"It's Iris Evermore!" yelled one of the three little pigs. His screech grabbed everyone's attention as they stared at the pair entering the school. A small group of fairytales ran to the pair and engulfed them in hugs. The group included: Catherine Hook, daughter of Captain Hook, Tara Bell, daughter of Tinkerbell, and William Darling, son of Wendy Darling. These were the children of Neverland and London Pan's childhood friends.

"Hey guys, how was summer?" said London in response to the group hug. The group let go and began chattering about their summer on the island of Neverland. Iris smirked at the group and snuck away so they could catch up. However, she didn't make it very far before bumping straight into someone's chest.
