I sighed quietly, tapping the eraser side of my pencil on the desk in my room. Looking out the window, I stared up at the sky, watching the stars of the night twinkle. I really need to finish this book, I know Mr. Wilson will call my parents if I don't. I shivered just thinking about that. I quickly brought my attention back to the book in front of me. To kill a mockingbird. Page 216. I'm so close. Just a few more chapters. I thought, beginning to read the next page of the book.

I've never been good at reading, I was always distracted. Paranoid, that one of them would burst through my door at any moment. It didn't help that I was a level behind on the reading level I'm supposed to be on. But, I can't help it, it seems no matter what I do, I can never excell. I flinched when I thought I heard my wooden door open. It had no lock. I turned around quickly only to see it was still closed. I shook the thoughts and continued reading. At this point, ill be here reading this stupid book all night. I sighed in slight frustration

I lifted my head up, i had fallen asleep while reading. I probably didn't finish the book. Even if I did, I did not remember it. Shit, what time is it? I panicked slightly as I got up to grab my phone and looked at the time. 6:47 am. Whew, I actually woke up earlier then normal. I wonder why that is? Oh well, I shook the thought and went to get dressed. I change into warm clothes, as it was starting to get cold out. I wore a light green shirt that had long blue stripped sleeves. I put on simple dark grey sweatpants and slid on brown boots. These boots were odd. They had no strings or zipper, or any design. Just, light brown with a darker brown for the seems. I also grabbed a red sweater. It didn't really match, but I really didn't care, I  probably wouldn't use it.

I went back to my desk and grabbed my light grey backpack. I shoved the sweater in it as well as my book for English class and a few other papers from my other eight classes. Hopefully nothing would get crumbled. I zipped the bag up and set it on my chair, beginning to walk to the bath room. I quickly brushed my teeth. Then, my hair. It wasn't long, but long enough I had to brush it or it would look a mess. After fighting some knots, I set the brush down on the counter. I splashed some cold water on my face to help wake up. I grabbed the towel and dried myself off.

No ones pov.

Mega left the bathroom, pushing his hair behind his ears. He picked up his bag and swung it over his shoulder, letting it hang loosing off his left shoulder. He turned off the lamp and left his room, closing his door behind him. Mega walked down the stairs of his home, he walked by the kitchen and saw his family eating. His mom, dad, and sister. He loved his sister dearly but his parents were a different story. His sister, Kayla, was two years younger then him, since she's been here, Mega's parents began to become distant to him, till they didn't care about him.

Mega walked by them, not making eye contact. As he headed to the door, he heard the light sound of rain beginning to fall. He smiled to himself before opening to door and staring the walk to school.

I smiled as I approached the door, it hadn't rained in so long, I missed the feeling of running around, chasing my friends through rain. Sadly, I hadn't done that in years. I felt a frown begin to form again. So, I quickly distracted myself from those happy times. After all, good times always come to an end.

I knew I would have some extra time, so I decided to take the long way to school, it was through a flower field. Though, the flowers were probably dead now. I turned left as I approached the field. I felt my pant legs begin to dampen. I didn't mind it. I stopped for a moment and walked over to a rose bush that still had a few alive. There was one that caught my eye, though, it was bigger then the others and a mix of dark crimson red and a light pink. I was mesmerized by it, I stared at it for what I thought was a few minutes. I couldn't help myself. I slowly reached out and carefully pulled it off from the bush. I winced as a thorn pressed into my finger. I looked down at it as blood slowly came out from the puncture.

I wiped the blood off on my sweatpants. Slowly, I began to carefully pull the rest of the thorns out of the rose, throwing them on the ground. I smiled and held it close, protecting it from the rain as it started to fall harder.

After about thirty minutes of walking through the field, I found the street again. Cars zoomed past me as I followed the road to my high school.
I walked into the building, avoiding eye contact with anyone. I quickly went over to the schools vending machine. Inserting a few coins into the machine, I selected "a7" which was a water bottle. It vended fast, luckily not going stuck. I grabbed the bottle and walked over my locker.

I bent down to unlock my locker. I hated having a locker close to the ground. It was uncomfortable. It hurt my back and my legs. But, I couldn't switch so I just dealt with it. I unlocked my locker with its code a opened it. I actually hardly use the locker. Since, I keep my backpack with me and I don't bring lunch to school, but this was a moment that I would use it.

I took the cap off the bottle and placed the rose in it, then into my locker. I then turned on the mirror light. A kid had given it to me, teasing me on how feminine I could be sometimes. But now, the light on it was being quite useful now, providing light for the rose. I smiled, a hummed as I stood up. I began walking to my first class, with a smile clear on my face, who knows when this will happen again. But, I just have a feeling today will be good! After all,

Rainy days were always my favorite.
