Maybe it wasn't normal for a dark skinned girl to be seen with a pale skinned boy.
My friends laughed when I told them that I liked you. They said we wouldn't look right as a couple.
With my curly hair, and strong facial features, and your dark brown hair, and freckles.
I remember when we were behind the slide. With your cherry stained tongue.You leaned forward and whispered, "Me and you together make gray."
And I believed you.
