Hello! ...I know I haven't updated my other story "We're Alright" in a long time. I am sorry to everyone who has read the story. I am planning on updating soon. In addtion to that, I will soon put up a new story which will be much more intense and emotional that any of the stupidness I write :P.
---This story was a school project that I did over night so its for sure awful but I thought i'd share with all you anyway. I hope you some what enjoy it, if not, I am sorry for wasting your time :/
"Leah..." I hear a voice whisper as hand is placed on my shoulder. I open my eyes slowly and find her staring at me with a sad face, the same face I witness every single morning.
"I'll be right down" I said, my voice coming out lower than I expected. I turn to the other side of the bed to avoid a conversation. I stare out my bedroom window as I hear footsteps fading away. I sigh and throw the covers off me to get up and regret it immediately as the freezing air hits me. I look up at the wall in front of me and smile. "Good morning" I say to the picture of my parents smiling down to a littler me. It's been a year since the accident. I go in the bathroom and see my reflection in the mirror and wince. I eyes are red and puffy from last night's tears. I try my best not to cry but i just can't control it. How can you ever accept the fact that someone is with you one day and the next they're just gone.
I get ready and go down to the kitchen to see my aunt Maria and kate making breakfast. "since when do you get up this early I say walking next to Kate. She smiles up at me and says "It's the last day of school before Christmas Break, I'm excited". I smile at her and grab a plate. Kate was better at accepting reality than I was or so she made it look, which was strange because she was younger than me. "come on eat up we have a long day today" Aunt Maria says handing me a spoon. "How come?" I ask finally speaking to her properly." Well after school we are going to go Christmas shopping" she says with a big smile. "Really!" Kate says as she jumps off her chair. I close my eyes and sigh "Aunt Maria you really don't have to do that, I know how business isn't going so well." I say looking into her eyes. Kate sits down nodding slowing, feeling guilty for overreacting. "Don't be silly" Aunt Maria says shaking her head, "I'm in charge of you now and I want us to have a fun Christmas" she says seriously. "But-.."
"no buts, lets get you girls to school" she says getting up from her chair. I know she is trying and I respect and appreciate that but she saying she is in charge now just reminds me of what I don't and can't have for Christmas.
Once we arrived at the school, Kate and I got out of the car. As I closed the door and turned to wave at Aunt Maria, I felt dizzy. I closed my eyes and bent down as I held on to the handle of the car door. "No stop!!!" someone screamed. I opened my eyes right away and found Kate and Aunt Maria looking at me with a worried faces. "What's wrong?" Kate asked. "Who was that?" I asked ignoring her question. "What do you mean?" Aunt Maria asked putting a hand on my shoulder to help me stand up straight. "Someone screamed" I said looking around only to see some students walking to the school entrance. "What are you talking about?, no one screamed" Kate said looking at me like I was crazy. "Yes someone-"
"Alright" Aunt Maria said cutting me off. "Kate why don't you go inside, maybe Leah is not feeling well, I think I should take her home." She says looking at Kate with a worried expression. "What? no i'm fine” I say taking a step towards the school" There was no way I was going to miss school before a big break. Aunt Maria signs and looks at me. "Really I am, you don't even have to worry" I say as I turn around and feel something hard collide with my head. "Ow!" I say rubbing my forehead with my hand. "You seriously need to start seeing where you're going" I hear a voice say. I open my eyes to see a face smiling at me. "uhh Joe this is all you fault" I say glaring at him. "Hey its not my fault you're like a twig" he say, earning a laugh from Kate and Aunt Maria. "well at least I'm not Godzilla." I say starting to walk towards the entrance. "I'm leaving before world war III starts" Aunt Maria says before getting in the car and driving away. We enter the school and Kate leaves to talk to her friend while Joe and I make our way to the locker. "So any plans for the break?" he asks as we open our lockers. "Nope" I say taking my books out. "Well now you do, you and me are going to hangout at Aunt Maria's store" he says closing his locker after taking out his books. "It's not hanging out when you already work there" I say laughing. "Whatever" he says taking my hand and pulling me towards our first class. Joe was my best friend, well my only friend. After my parent died he was the only one who stayed to experience all my mood swings and mixed emotions. He worked at my aunt's store so I got to see him everyday.
