It was dark and foggy when I arrived at the town of Silver Springs. I needed somewhere to crash but didn't know the first thing about this place. Everywhere I had been, had only been temporary since I started running. I couldn't let them find me again and I wouldn't let them find any other witches either if I could help it. They would never use me again. I might be a dark witch, but that didn't mean I enjoyed doing dark magic or wanted to help some lunatics kill all witches.
I parked my car and pulled out my phone to search for a decent place to sleep at. Only the Silver Springs Bed & Breakfast and a place called The Retreat at Silver Springs came up. The Retreat was closer to me, so I started up my beloved silver-grey Beetle. My beloved "Sassy" had been my one true rock through my ordeals. Now she took me to The Retreat. A little bit outside the town, down a long dirt road that lead past the Springs, it was nestled cozily in peaceful surroundings. I came to a big and beautiful wooden building. The light was still on, so I parked Sassy and went inside to ask for a room.
"Hello, dear," a middle-aged woman said. "Can I help you?"
"Yes, please," I said, "do you have any available rooms?" I fiddled with my purse in the hopes I would need my credit card to pay with.
"We sure do, dear," the woman said with a cute British accent. "How long do you plan to stay?" A completely innocent questions that had me chewing my lip. How long would it be before they caught up to me again? Would it be before my shrinking bank account was bleed completely dry?
"Can I take it by the day?" I asked tentatively.
"Of course," she answered me. "Would you like breakfast in the morning?"
"I would love to." I was so relieved but I still had no idea where to go after Silver Springs. It seemed like I had spent all options and I was exhausted. I could really do with a place where I could rest up for a while and regain my strength.
The lady showed me to a nice room upstairs. It didn't hold many items, a bed, a table with a chair and a mirror, and a small wardrobe. But it was all that was needed. Everything was nice and clean and the linen smelled fresh as if it dried outside. I grabbed my bag from Sassy and got ready for bed. As always sleep was a long time coming, but I slept better that night than I had in a long time. I felt strangely safe here.

The next day I went down to the reception to find out where the breakfast was served. It turned out that everyone gathered in the big kitchen where the food was served at a large table. There were anything and everything a hungry morning heart could desire. Pancakes with syrup, toasted bread, scrambled eggs, and much, much more.
I started with a batch of pancakes with a glass of OJ. Eggs and bacon were up next. When I finished, I thanked the host for the meal, packed up my things, and put my bag in Sally - always ready to get the hell out of dodge if all hell broke loose. When I asked, I was promised that I would be welcomed back in the evening if I needed it. That was a very nice reassurance.
I left The Retreat, the husband and wife waving me off with a "Have a nice day."

I went into Silver Springs to check it all out. I wanted to find a coffeehouse or something where I could sit down and get a feel for the town. Since it was magically warded, I might even have a chance at staying just a little while. For some reason, it seemed like those witch hunters had a harder time finding me when I was at one of those warded places.
I found a cozy-looking establishment called Jewels Cafe. A beautiful sign, one of those handwritten ones that look amazing, was outside and advertising Pumpkin Spiced Latte. I sighed in content. It had been a long time since I had had one of those. Happily, I pushed the door open and went inside.
As I waited in line, I studied the patrons sitting in the cafe. One was in the corner, typing away on his laptop. Another, a dark-haired woman, who looked to be a vampire, was sipping a huge cup of who knew what. I had never seen a cup that big in any cafe ever before. A blonde, blue-eyed man was smiling adoringly at the vampire. He looked absolutely human to me, but since she was a vampire, or so I thought, it made sense. She would need to eat after all. He was probably completely unaware of all the supes around him.
"Saph," the blonde guy said, "we need to go soon. I have a shipment coming in early at the diner today."
"Not now, Bob." She answered a little bit distant. "I'm having my coffee." At her reply, he smiled happily at her.
I was confused by their seemingly familiar banter. They seemed to know each other better than I would usually expect from a human and a vampire.
"How can I help you?" The cute guy behind the counter asked me and effectively pulled me out of my mind. I saw the troll that had been in line before me, had walked to the side to wait for his order to finish.
"Can I have a PSL?" I asked and he smiled brightly at me.
"Absolutely. What name can I call?" He asked.
"Malakit," I answered him. It might not be my first name, but I had learned it was safer to keep my cards close when I didn't know people. At my name, the barista looked at me with a raised eyebrow and I wondered what was up with my name that had him looking at me like that.
"Amber, will you get a PSL ready?" He called over his shoulder.
"Sure Julian," a cute blonde said, as she came around from the back room. While Julian made a drink for the troll, Amber got my PSL ready and called for me.
"Enjoy," she said with a merry twinkle in her eye.
I found a booth near the back of the cafe. In the window, a weird looking book was just laying around. A bit like the newspapers most people liked to read while getting their caffeine fix. I shrugged my shoulders and grabbed the book. The title was less weird than the cover. Love Blooms it said. Four scarcely dressed men, several holding flowers to cover their private parts, and a woman, dressed in a lavender top and what looked to be floras panties, was on it. Whatever, I thought as I flipped to the first chapter. As I read the first line, "I do a little dance as I slip on my sacred panties," I sipped my latte. As soon as the hot beverage slipped through my lips and the sweet, spicy deliciousness hit my tongue, the wildest sensations hit me all at once and my vision turned a strange electrical orange. Everything was bathed in the weirdest orange light and my body heated all over. My center in particular was practically boiling. Swallowing hard, I tried to get my heated self under control. I was practically panting and every single man in the cafe looked like a mouthwatering treat created only to satisfy my raging lust.
"Julian!" Amber yelled as she shifted into me, the troll, Bob, and back to herself again in a matter of seconds.
"What did you do to the PSL?" She exclaimed with an anxious look on her face, and an embarrassed looking Julian peeked carefully around the counter.
"Uhm, I didn't do anything other than what I usually do. I even had you make it, Bean." He said wide-eyed. "How is she glowing orange?" He asked incredulously and looked from me to Amber and back. "Not to be snooping, but what is your full name?" My pulse was hammering a mile a minute and Julian looked like a meal on legs.
"Wouldn't you like to know, cutie pie?" I purred, feeling up Julian's pecks and looking up at him through my lashes.
"Now hold on a minute there, missy," Amber all but growled, turning into the troll again and pulled me off of Julian. "Now, please, can you tell us your name?"
I looked her up and down (should I still call her 'her' when she had shifted into a male troll?) and leaned in closer to say, "Ok, hunky. My name is Primrose Jewels Malakit Jensen." I fluttered my lashes at her.
"Were you by any chance reading that book there while you were drinking your PSL?" Julian asked me quietly. Horniness as I had never experienced it before coursed through me like melted lava, leaving my core pulsing with need. It was consuming me and stealing all rational thought.
"What is that to you?" I asked him."If it lies around it is common sense that anyone could read it, right?" I looked around the cafe at all the patrons, searching for just one who would agree with me, but I only encountered very wide eyes.
Amber, the troll, grabbed my shoulders and steered me away from all the lovely man meat. She pulled me around the counter to the back room. I felt up her muscular arms.
"You wanna get hot and bothered with me back here, cutie?" I simply couldn't help myself. I scooped my hand around her and gave her trolly ass a squeeze.
"Missy!" She squealed. A sound that was very unlikely and rather funny coming from a 7 feet male troll.
"Julian, get back here!" She roared.
"I have Chase looking after the cafe. What the heck are we going to do about her?" Julian said as Amber shifted back into herself. Even as a woman she was hot and I wanted to lick all over her.
"I think we need to call Juniper to get her over here stat," Amber answered Julian's question and grabbed her phone to call her friend.
"Juniper! Can you get over to Jewels Cafe right away? We have kind of a situation going on here," Amber told the one on the other end of the line. I turned towards Julian and rubbed up against him, completely missing the rest of Amber's call as I tried to get closer to Julian who held me at arm's length.
"Please hurry, Juniper!" He whimpered.
