Winters POV:
I run as fast as I possibly can, "MABEL! MABEL!" I scream.
I duck under a low tree branch when I hear Mabel cry out, "IM HERE, HELP!" By the time I had quickly turned to my right, I heard a loud thump, I was too late Mabel was unconscious. I gasp loudly and stumble back a few steps, my head felt light and I couldn't think straight. The two men that had just captured Mabel spotted me and started to run towards me! I couldn't move, I just stood there like a statue staring a Mabel laying on the ground. The last thing I saw was one of the huge men holding a wooden plank high and then quickly lowering it to my head, then I to, was unconscious.

"Hello? Hello?"
Someone was shaking me by the shoulders. I had a splitting head ache and it felt like my head was going to pop! My eyes started to slightly open, to see a boy that looked about my age, but just as my eyes had fully opened a huge bucket of icy water was spilt over me! I quickly sit up and yell "what the heck are you doing?! Wait who are you?"
"Hey calm down." The boy says, he was kneeling down next to me. "I was just trying to wake you up." The boy said.
"What's your name?" He asks.
"Umm, Winter."
"Okay, I'm Colten." He held out his hand for me to shake it, so I did. His hand felt so warm compared to mine. Probably because I was dripping wet and sitting in a puddle of mud and leafs.
"Do you remember where you are Winter?" Asked Colton.
"Um, yeah, I'm in the dark woods." I replied.
"Do you remember why you were lying unconscious?"
"Yes, I was trying to save Mabel from getting taken away with some thugs last night and I when tried to save her-" I was stopped by realising how silly I'm being, telling a complete stranger about how my best friend was kidnapped!
"Wait did your friend get taken away?"
"Ah, yeah. She was um, kidnapped, by thugs." I said.
"Mine did too! His name is nick, that's how I kinda found you here. I was looking for him." Colton exclaims.
"Oh." I say standing up."
"Umm would you like a towel?" Colten asked.
"You Have one?" I asked
"Well yeah, I mean I don't know how long I will be searching for." He said.
"What about your parents, won't they be worried?!" I asked.
"No, they don't really care about me, they just give me food and then run off to the pub to get drunk." He said looking down at his hiking boots.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."
"Hm thanks." He said.
"So um, can I have that towel?"
"Oh yeah sure." Colton said, handing me light yellow towel. He walked over to his backpack leaning against a tree and pulled out a mug and a thermos, he poured a steamy liquid into the mug and offered to me as I wrap the towel around me.
"Hot chocolate?"
"Ah, no thanks." I replied.
"Do you know the time, Colton?" Was that even his name, oh god I hope it is.
"Um, it's 5:30am." He said looking at his watch.
"Wow, your determined aren't you!"
"Well yeah, I mean he's my best mate and I want to save him, and hopefully I find him without, you know, getting killed or captured." Colton exclaims sipping his hot chocolate.
"Well, I better get going then and start getting ready to go and hunt down my own best friend. Thank you for your help and the towel, Colton." I said as I start to job back to my house.
"Wait!" Colton yelled running After me.
"Why don't you come with me to find your friend?" Colton suggests.
"Well I mean, I could but I doubt we would find BOTH of our best friends." I said
"Just think about it, they were both taken on the same night, by thugs." Said Colton wandering behind me.
I shrugged, I mean okay he's kinda cute and nice, but I mean I just met him and he is asking me to run away with him, kind of.
I think about it for a minute then say, "okay. But this isn't going to be one of those movies where two people run away together and fall in love, okay."
"Okay." He agrees.
We walked in silence for about 2 minuets until we reached my aunties house. I walked up the front porch stairs, with Colton following behind me. I open the front door to let us in, I put on the T.V for Colton to watch while I have a shower and get my things ready for the search.
"Im going to have a quick shower and get my stuff together for our search." I said
Colton nods and sits down on the grey couch and starts flicking through the ,
channels. I turn towards the bathroom and was about to take a step when Colton asked "winter, where are your parents?"
I swivel round on my heels to face him and say, "um, out."
"So they wont mind if you came with me?"
"Ah, Nope." Then I nodded and went off to the shower.

"Okay let's hit the road!" I said enthusiastically. I have packed my tooth brush, two tube of toothpaste, my hair brush, sunglasses, 3 changes of clothes, all the money I could find in the house, a drink bottle, some food, a blanket, a small tent, some make up and my phone charger. I think that's all I need but I still feel like I'm forgetting something.
"Well it's 6:00am now so if we are camping out, then we will need time to cook dinner and set up." He said looking me up and down.
I was wearing my hiking boots, a plain grey tee, full length leggings and my navy blue jumper wrapped around my waist.
"Right then." I say picking up my ridiculously heavy backpack and swinging over my shoulder, which failed and hit me in the head. I just hoped that Colton didn't see, but he obviously did because he giggled a bit when It hit me.
We walked Down the front porch steps and then I remembered what I had forgotten, I ran back inside and came back out with my Swiss Army knife.
"Hey, I didn't think you would own one of them." Colton said as he pulled out his own Swiss Army knife.
I shrugged and said "yes well, we had better get going now."
"Well yeah, I've bean saying that the whole time!" Said Colton.
And so we headed off into the woods in search of our best friends.
