Katalina pov :"You cannot be serious," I tell myself as I finish up reading my book. "Well, I guess I really should've seen that coming". I get up from my bed and make my way downstairs to help my mom make breakfast. As I reach the final step I see my mom with a big smile on her face as she recently got a job promotion. She hasn't been feeling well as of late and seeing her smile makes my day ten times better.
"Hey mom," I say, "so what's on the menu for today". "You pick," she says while handing me our recipe book. " Hmm I say we make red velvet pancakes, what do you think?" I said cheerfully. "I think that's the best decision you've had in a while" she giggled. I laugh nervously and give a slight smile. As we finished up cooking I began to clean dishes. Before heading up the stairs I reminded my mom I'm going to be late coming home from school. She nods and I smile back.
Today's the day of my midterm test for my anthropology class. As stressed out as I am that's not going to stop me from doing my best while looking my best. While going through my closet I finally pick out my outfit for the day. I went with a beige cardigan with a simple slight crop top paired with some loose fit jeans with some black platform shoes. As for hair, I was kind of rushing myself so I just quickly straighten it.
I never really minded school I always just kind of rolled with it I guess, I think that mindset changed once I reached college though. Everything is so different, but one thing I will say about college is that it really does make you realize that going to school for five days a week and having six to eight classes a day is literally pointless.
As I reach school I had about two hours to spare so went to my secret spot behind the science building and began to finish any upcoming assignments and or read a book. I always put on my air-pods to ensure people understand to leave me alone. I finish up what I'm doing and as I'm doing that I see a coffee shop across campus. "Coffee sounds great right about now," I tell myself while gathering my things and heading over to the shop. I walk in and begin to notice that the place is deserted. "Hello, is anyone here," I say. I look around and something catches my eye, it's a sign that reads "went on break be back in 10 minutes". "Who leaves the door open while they go on their break," I say confused. As I turn to leave the store I hear some bells meaning someone came into the store from the back. I look around the counter to see a dark-haired boy with soft-looking brown eyes looking upset. I contemplated asking if he was ok, but I instead turned my heels and headed to the door. My hand reached the doorknob when I hear "Well did you want anything to eat, drink, or what?"
