Killian's POV

I lead Emma out of the castle.

"Where are we going Killian?" she asked. I just smiled at her.

"You'll see."

We went out one of the side doors and made our way round to the gardens. As we were walking round I found a pink rose that looked a bit like the middlemist flowers from Camelot. I plucked it out of the ground and handed it to Emma.

"There you go, love." I said as I handed it over.

"Thank you Killian."

"Now love, I want to tell you something the lad told me."

"What did Henry say now?" she asked.

"Nothing bad Emma. I told him about your worries because I thought he had a right to know. And he told me that he knows that when you gave him up it was to give him his best chance at a good life. He knows what I know Emma, that no matter what has happened in the past you are an amazing woman. You are an amazing mother to Henry and to Hope."

We continued walking through the gardens until we found a trail that led down to a secluded beach.

Emma's POV

Killian lead me down onto the beach and we sat down on the sand together. I cuddles into his chest as he put his arms around me.

"I love you, you know that Swan."

"Of course, and I love you too." I replied giving him a kiss.

"Well, Emma, I was thinking maybe we should go away, just the two of us."

"I don't know. I mean who would look after Hope?

"I'm sure either your parents of Henry will, they all love having Hope."

"Well yes, but I'm not sure about leaving Hope. What if something happens whilst we're gone and I'm not there to protect her?"

"It would be ok. Your parents and Henry would protect her."

"I know but I'm just not sure if she's ready to be on her own for that long. I mean how long would we be gone for?"

"I don't know, love. And I don't think that it's Hope who is not ready to be left, I think your not ready to leave Hope."

"Yes, ok. Is it bad that I don't want to leave her?"

"It's normal Swan, but it's also normal to spend a bit of time away from her."

"I guess your right."

He pulled me into a big hug and we just stayed there for a while, enjoying the silence.

Killian's POV

I was glad that I had gotten Emma to realise that she might find it good to spend a bit of time away from Hope, and everyone for that matter.

I had already started thinking about what Emma had said in the library about wanting to go to France, and I knew that was where I wanted to take her.

She was looking at the horizon Infront of us, the sun was blazing in the sky as it was nearly mid-day. She laid back her head and started to close her eyes.

I tried to stay as still as possible as Emma slept not wanting to wake her up. Since Hope was born we hadn't got as much sleep because she like to keep us up all night. I didn't mind too much because I actually had a daughter but I knew that it had taken its toll on Emma.

I felt my own eyelids start to droop and felt myself start to fall asleep.

Emma's POV

I woke up a bit later, the sun was lower in the sky now and I was starting to miss Hope.

I started trying to wake up Killian so that we could make our way to the castle. He opened his eyes slowly squinting slightly at the sun.

"I want to go back, I'm missing Hope."

"Ok Swan, just give me a second and we can start going."

I took a step back from Killian so that he could get up. I turned around looking at the horizon once again. Killian was right all those years ago when he said that the horizon calms you. I felt his arms snake round my waist as I was standing there.

"You ready to go love."

"Yes."

He started walking up the slope I turned around to follow him. Suddenly the ground opened up beneath me. I realised that it was a portal just before I fell through. As I fell I heard Killian call my name.

Killian's POV

I started walking up the slope, turning around expecting to see Emma right behind me.

She was falling through the portal. I called her name as I ran towards it not wasting a second before jumping in determined to save my wife.
