MILA ALWAYS KNEW SHE WAS DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS. Her mother even told her that her pregnancy was odd, she could feel how abnormal it was. Her mother dreaded her birth fearing something was wrong with her, she wasn't wrong since Mila wasn't a normal baby.

However, her mother always accepted and loved her daughter more than anything in the world.
The healing abilities her mother had during her pregnancy passed onto her daughter. Mila was never sick and her injuries healed before she could even feel the pain. She never had a scar in her life, it was awesome. And it made her mother's life way easier, she never had to worry about diseases or doctor appointments. Mila was perfectly healthy, maybe even too much healthy.

But they were other things Mila could do, she would turn on the light or move her toys as a kid without using her hands. It frightened her mother a lot, at first, she even believed there was a ghost in the house. But it wasn't a ghost, her daughter had actual magic powers. It was a lot to take in for Amanda. Raising a kid with powers wasn't exactly an easy task.

It sounded great, but it wasn't actually. Mila couldn't control her powers, especially when she was angry. Her temper was one of her biggest problems. She guessed it she got it from her father because her mom was one of the sweetest people she knew.

Mila remembers one time her mom punished her by taking her toys. The little girl was so furious that she lit my room on fire by accident. And she was only seven. They weren't exactly comfortable with money, her mother was a waitress at the Grill and a single mother. So they had some financial issues, and Mila burning down her room in a fit of rage didn't help.

Her mom was livid and terrified, she took Mila to Sheila Bennet who was known to be a witch in the little town of Mystic Falls. Her mother was desperate and even offered money in exchange for Bennet's help. But which didn't budge, she called Mila an abomination that shouldn't be born, said she was dangerous and would bring chaos one day. And then she shut down the door on their faces.

Mila's mom was devasted and confused, she couldn't understand why the woman would call her little angel an abomination. Mila was seven and she never forgot those words. It hurt to be called like that, and she believed that maybe Sheila Bennet was right about her. Mila wasn't normal.

The ancestors had whispered to Shiela Bennet that the child was an abomination that would bring death to all witches. They told her that her powers were too enormous and Mila would grow to be evil. They even asked her to kill the child, demanding her to complete her duty: keep the balance of the nature. However, Sheila couldn't bring herself to hurt an innocent child. So she decided to keep her distance from Mila at all cost.

Mila was furious all the time and she didn't even know why. Her temper was disastrous to control, and adding magic to the mix was worse. Sometimes she would break things around her just because she was angry. Once she even had almost hurt some people by setting another fire, but this time at school.

But her mom was always there for her trying her best to not make Mila feel like a freak or an abomination. She enrolled her daughter in sports and art to help her manage her anger. They would go each Sunday to yoga classes, so they could have some bonding moments. She was the best mom, but Mila always wondered about her father...if he was like her. She wanted to meet him so badly, maybe with him, she would feel like she belongs somewhere.

Her mom told to her that she didn't know a lot about him, she only knew that his name was Nik. He was British and he was an artist. They were both artists a least, so Mila knew she got that from her father. Her mom also reassured Mila many times that he didn't know about her being pregnant, that he didn't abandon her. It comforted the girl, not knowing about her was better than not wanting her. But Mila was scared at the possibility that he would reject her if one day he did found out about her.
