Chapter 1
When we arrived home, I helped her out of my silver Dodge Cummins and escorted her to my front door and let her in. I turned to the right where the stairs were and said, "I'll show you where you'll be sleeping, and there is the bathroom across the hall my room is right next to yours if you need anything let me know. Make yourself at home. She nodded and turned to go into her room. "I'll give you a better tour tomorrow. Get some rest."
It had been two days since I had brought Rose home from the hospital. I had cared for her made her food to help her to recuperate from the stress of her accident. I finally asked her "what brought you here?" As we were sitting down for breakfast at my dining room table.
Her reply was a shrug and the look in her eyes of don't tell anyone. So I gave her a nod and we finished our breakfast in an awkward silence. After breakfast I grabbed her plate and my plate to take to the kitchen to wash and clean up my breakfast mess. As I finish I get this sense of someone watching me, I turn to see her standing in the kitchen leaning on the doorframe.
Rose asked "Is there anything you want me to do?" I run my hand through my short curly dishwater blonde hair trying to compose my self and not let her scent overwhelm me again.
"Uh sure you can put the few dishes in the dishwasher, but really you don't have to..."
She cut me off "Okay." We worked silently for a few moments.
"Where are you from?" I asked curiously.
"I'm from North Carolina." She replied.
"What part?" She clammed up on me giving me the look don't ask. "What pack are you from?"
"I don't have a pack."
" what do you mean you don't have a pack, you have to?"
"Just... I--I don't want to talk about it. Please." Rose's eyes were starting to well up with tears." I didn't push the subject any more.
After a few moments I sighed and asked her, "Do you remember what caused your car accident? If not that's alright."
"All I remember was that I was driving and something jumped out in front of me and I swerved and lost control. I wasn't really paying attention to the road, because I was driving for hours without a rest which I should have but I was trying to get away from North Carolina as fast as I could. I didn't want to be there anymore. " when she was done talking she was crying. I stepped toward her and hugged her to comfort her. I wrapped my arms around her into a firm embrace and let her head rest against my chest and I rested my chin lightly on the top of her head, and shushed her.
"Oh" was all I could muster up to say because I could feel that she was not telling me everything. "Well you can stay here as long as you like. Want to go for a walk or run to get rid of the tension? It always helps me to relax."
"Where to?"
"I usually go to this waterfall area, it is about six miles from here and it also has a place where we can swim. It's just so peaceful there."
We started out walking North of my house silently. She was the first to break the silence. "Want to race?" I nodded in response. We lined up, and readied ourselves.
"On your mark. Get set. GO!" We shifted and I lunged into the lead easily as we ran into the forest our feet thumping against the soft ground and the leaves blanketing the forest floor making it soft. I slowed as we reached a small clearing about half way to my favorite waterfall, and shifted back into my human form. I looked up as I saw her shift back, her body was so perfect and looked so touchable.
"Ahem. Do you mind?" Rose said as she walked out of the trees into the clearing after we ran from my house.
"Uh-uh I-I'm sorry." I said as I shook my head to clear myself out of the trance I was in from her perfectly toned body. I threw my shirt to her to put on since she didn't have any clothes with her; and I tend to carry my clothes in a backpack from when I shift into my wolf form, and back to my human form. My shirt was big enough to cover most of her.
"Thank you, Ashin." She said sweetly. We walked through the forest and came to the clearing of the waterfall, and found a rock near the water to sit on.
"What happened?" Rose asked
"You were in a car accident. You're lucky to have made it out alive, and not any more injured than you were." I replied quietly.
"Ashin, I want to thank you for taking me in."
I change the subject and ask "do you have a mate?" Knowing that she hasn't found her mate.
Her eye brows furrowed when she replied "No not yet, why do you ask?"
Ashin replied, "Because I think w-we might be mates. I feel like I've found my other half. Also do you have a pack?
"I'm not sure about that, I mean we could be... And no I don't have a pack."
"Want to go swimming?
"I don't have a bathing suit."
"Well wear your shirt you have on."
"I don't have a dry shirt"
"Then then take it off"
Before she had a chance to reply Ashin grabbed her bridal style and took her into the pond by the waterfall, with her kicking and screaming "PUT ME DOWN! I DON'T WANT TO GO IN THE WATER!"
Before Rose knew it she was submerged into the water. They both came up for air right in front of each other mere centimeters from each other. Ashin cupped his right hand around her cheek, and he flicked his eyes down to her full lush looking lips, and leaned in to lightly press his lips to hers. They held the kiss for a few moments, then he licked her bottom lip asking for entrance which she granted. Kissing her passionately was so hard for Ashin his inner wolf was trying to take over and make her his. Finally he was able to pull away before he lost control. Both Ashin and Rose were breathless.
