Welcome Week seemed to end so quickly. Andie and I weren't ready for school to start. Our suitemate Grace moved in the day before classes started. She was a beautiful, professional woman that we'd known since freshman year. Andie and I weren't sure how it would be with her coming back and getting thrown into the mix, but we were ready.
I tucked my brown knots behind my ear as Andie and I listened to the furniture moving in the other room. Grace had stopped by and said hello, we'd even helped her carry her things up.
Andie sighed, "I'm not ready for things to change. I want to walk around the pond and see if Andy will join us." She twisted her hair up into a bun and cranked her fan up a notch. The air flow in the building was literally non-existent.
I rolled off my bed with a groan, "Honestly. I feel the same way, but I think it's good that she's back." I liked Grace, but I struggled to be friends with both of them. Together, the three of us seemed to have to put our guards up and I hated that.
At that moment, Grace stepped into our room with a grin, "Hey, want to run to Meijer with me?"
We didn't, but we said yes anyway.
The campus charm faded away as we all hurried off to our classes on Monday. Thankfully, we all had a class at eleven that morning. We wandered over to the same building before splitting up and heading our different ways.
I found myself in the back row of a classroom, surrounded by freshman. Freshman in a basic com class. They were so loud. Sarah, Zeke, and Liam became my little group that day. I nearly choked as I realized that I called them 'my' freshman twice in that first class. I sounded like Romeo.
I split as soon as that class finished. I found Andie and Grace outside their classrooms. We sat and talked for a moment before Grace and I skirted off to our next class. We sat down next to one of my friends from my division - psych. Sasha had blonde hair at the moment, although I'm sure that would change shortly.
This class was going to be a riot, I could already tell. The professor seemed to be more of a mess than I was. He kept going on rants about love in the very first class. I was down for it though.
I had work that night, pizza per usual. Then I skirted back to our room to find Andie twitching. She jumped when I stepped into the room, "Let's go for a walk, before Grace gets back." She was already dressed and ready to go. Even had her shoes on. She knew I'd be ready to roll.
I shrugged, "Okay, let me change real quick and then we can head out." I stripped off my sweaty work clothes and stepped into leggings a giant white sweatshirt. I yanked out my ponytail as we headed out.
Andie was so energetic, "So, I talked to Andy today! He asked how often we walk and how many laps we do." Her bubbly excitement overwhelmed me for a moment as she poured out her little conversation. She giggled, "He said if I wanted him to walk with us, I could throw rocks at his window." Her bouncy blonde hair and bright blue eyes made me question why in the world this guy didn't seem interested. She was amazing.
I chuckled, "Girl, you should have gotten his number so you could ask him to walk with us." I winked, "I told my mom about the first time you talked to him and she even said you should have gotten her number."
She cringed a little, "Your mom even? Ugh, I know, but I wanted him to ask."
We rounded the corner of their dorm and Andie froze, "Is that?" She grabbed my arm so hard I squeaked. I looked up to see two guys walking a little ways ahead of us. I nodded, squinting because I'd left my glasses in my room... again.
I swear Andie stopped breathing for second. Then, after a moment of consideration, she burst out, "ANDY!" I jumped. I hadn't expected her to talk, but then, she always ended up having more guts than I gave her credit for.
