Lovely....

I repeat the word in my head multiple times. It's so strange, he's never even met me yet he can catch my heart with one word. I shake my head, I already have a soulmate now, focus on that Mari. I begin typing again.

Max

Thank you, I just don't know how to respond to something like that. You've never even met me yet you are so kind. I'm glad we met over the Internet, even if you did call my blog corny. Honestly I find myself talking to you more and more lately and as much as it is nice, I feel like it'll be easier to confide to you. Don't get me wrong I'm still not sending a photo of my eyes, but thanks again. I think you're pretty great too.

~Mari

Pretty great too? That's the fucking cheesiest thing I've ever heard. I really should tell him about my eyes, probably will stop talking to me though. It's so not fair, a really nice guy finally comes around and is interested in me and I bump into a stranger and matches eyes with them. Why does life have to be so cruel.

"Well that's enough of that" I say out loud as I close the laptop screen. What does one do on a Monday night when everything is boring. I don't know what normal kids do, but I'm grabbing some Oreos and watching Netflix.

I watch shows till its time for me to go to sleep. Hopefully my day will be better in the morning.

The week flew by until it was Friday again, Bri and I arranged to have ourselves a little get together and all seemed great. By the time we got off the bus and into my house we were tired from the day.

"So what do you want to do anyways? Because I'm so not feeling like doing anything that requires moving, P.E. was a pain today" Bri said as she collapsed on the couch.

" I was thinking you could meet my friend Bianca actually."

"Who's Bianca? Does she go to our school because I've never met her."

"Nope she lives in Connecticut, we usually Skype or text so I figured we can put it up on the TV and have a chat."

"Sounds good then"

It took about five minutes to set up Skype on the TV. I begin to call Bianca.
Ring ring. Ring ring. Ring ring. Three rings and Bianca picks up.

"Hey Mari!"

"Bianca the cameras not on."

"Sorry let me get that, going to press that button there and voila! Can you see me?"

We can see her alright, Bianca has dark skin and even darker eyes. Very deep brown eyes to go with her frizzy black hair.

"Yeah we can see you, can you see us?"

"Um no actually, could be me one sec. Okay now I can see you- woah Mari when did the eyes happen?"

"Sorry I totally forgot to tell you about it!" I quickly explain the story once again of me and the stranger to her.

"Ugh that blows Mar. Ooh who's the new chick, is that Bri?"

"How do you know my name? Oh wait Mari must have told you, sorry.." Bri said, looking curiously at Bianca.

"So how is everything down there girls?"

"I guess sophomore year is pretty good plus I'm 16 tomorrow which is nice."

"Totally forgot about it! You and Arthur are so skyping me, got it!"

"Okay, okay, I guess I'm pretty predictable with who I'm going to be with Huh."

"As always Mari, how's freshman year for you Bri?"

"I guess it's okay, I don't really like anyone in my classes and no one really likes me. Highlights of my day is talking to Mari and Arthur."

"Seems legit, Connecticut is pretty much okay, and Drake is always with me if I need anything."

"I'm guessing Drake is your soulmate then?" Bri said.

"Yes actually, you catch on quick. He's a real nice guy."

"I've got a question then." Bri said

"What's your question?"

"How do you feel when you're around him?"

"I um.. Good question... I feel like nothing else matters but him beside me and that I never deserve to have this."

Bri nods to herself when she hears this, I wonder what that is about...

We continue talking for about an hour, talking about school, life, jokes, just most things that are entertaining.

When Bianca leaves Bri and I are left to our own devices.

"Well, now what do you want to do?"

"I don't know about you, but I'm starving!" Bri says.

We make ourselves some sandwiches from the kitchen and head to my room to eat and talk.

"So what was with the question for Bianca Bri?"

"Just needed an answer for something..."

"I'll take your word for it then."

Bri and I talk and talk. Yet I still haven't worked up the courage to ask about her past. I can always do that next week... By the time tomorrow rolls around I can't believe I'm 16. At midnight Bri gave a little hurrah! Happy Birthday Mari! It was a great way to start the day.

Bri went home around 10 and when she left I headed straight to bed. I'm not heading to Arthur's till 4 I think as I fall asleep. 6 hours of sleep is better than none...
