Silas gasped for air, his throat opening and closing uncontrollably.
He screamed loudly and pushed his hand against the door.

The door flew open, and it stopped lighting up in different colours. Instinctively, everyone took a step back.

Silas sat up, his eyes going wide as his throat began to open up and stay that way. He panted, and that was enough for Professor Harrow to be right at his side.

"Silas? Silas, can you hear me?
Do you know who I am?", he asked.

Silas nodded, his breathing slowly returning back to normal. "P-Professor Harrow."

Professor Harrow smiled and the others sighed in relief.
It was then that they got a proper look at Silas.

He wasn't the young boy they once knew.
He looked like he had aged at the same rate as Bennett.

"Silas?", called out a nervous Azlan. Silas turned to face her, and she rushed to him. She wrapped her arms around him.
"I missed you so much!"

The boy didn't hug back though. Azlan pulled away, a concerned look on her face.
"Silas?
Are you ok?"

Silas stared blankly at his former best friend, before shaking his head.
"You left us."

Silas turned to face the others.
"You all did."

The machine started beeping again, and Professor Harrow rushed over to the monitor.
"What?"

"Sir, what's going on?", questioned Quinn.
"Is it Maya?"

Professor Harrow frowned.
"She's not... something's wrong."

"What is it? Will her door not open?", asked Yukishiro.
"I'll open it for-"

Silas placed a hand in front of Yukishiro.
"-No.
She has to do it alone."

Silas approached Maya's Pod and placed a hand on the door.
He closed his eyes.

The thick fog returned, but this time it passed through him. In the distance, he saw Maya standing still with her back to him.

"Maya? Maya, you need to wake up!"

When she didn't move, Silas started to run towards her.
A deafening groan rang through the air.

She's not ready.

Silas shook his head.
"What? Yes she is! Maya, wake up!"

She's not ready.

Silas' eyes opened, and a frown appeared on his face.

"What's wrong?", asked Quinn.

"She's not ready", said Silas.

"What the héll does that mean?", asked Quinn.

"Everything looks fine on the sensors. I just looked back on the readings over the years and early on, her brain and body activity went into overdrive", said Professor Harrow.
