Does magic exist? If so, why don't we have it?

The term is very vague and undefined as it is not common.

But Yes! It does!

It exists everywhere and anywhere, though no matter what timeline or place it belongs to....

It has only one purpose....

To give mankind power....

The power to protect themselves...

The power to conquer,

And lastly....

The power to destroy, to bring destruction upon mankind itself.

Waging war, bloodshed, genocides, magic is very useful for taking the lives of those that oppose you. Sure it boosted our progress, but it also sped up our demise.

Which is why the world was better with no magic at all, because without its existence.....

Mankind can be better maintained.

Those who believe that they can harness magic to be used for good are delusional, people were hard enough to control, and peace was hardly ever maintained before the discovery of magic, having magic in the equation is like adding fuel to a flame.

This is why this parallel world was created by the Holy Grail as an experiment, to see how mankind would adapt to this kind of situation.

Unfortunately, magic couldn't be completely snuffed out, even with the Holy Grail's power, the loss of balance without magic would have a large effect on other worlds, thus; a temporary solution was made.

Those who would govern the world were given magic, mostly they were royals, but the rest were composed of priest and archbishops.

However, balance cannot be maintained without chaos to equate to it, so irregular holders of magic were created.

But the priests and royals eventually came to fear their existence, as they have a better talent for magic, afraid that they might be overthrown, the royals had an agreement with the priests to wipe out the irregular.

They turned them against the public by proclaiming them as "witches" sent by the devils, soon they made people participate in witch hunts to completely get rid of the witches.

Of course, the witches managed to hide, although, that didn't last long as they were given bounties and became known as criminals.

This however, was nothing more than a dastardly plot made by the priests, the creation of the church led to the discovery of the throne of heroes.

Due to the lack of power of the royals and priests have compared to the witches, they needed strength to ally them.

They hired skilled swordsmen to combat the witches; though, to their dismay, they were still lacking in power.

Thus; they borrowed servants from the throne of heroes to aide them. The power of the servants overwhelmed the witches and led to their demise. However, it came at a cost, due to the frequent use of servants, the Holy Grail, forbid further summoning's than what they already had, if they ever disobeyed, the servants they summoned would turn to normal mortals.

Decades passed, and the world was under the control of the church and the royals once again, little did they know, that every century, a very powerful witch would be born, due to the witches seeking vengeance....

From the depths of Hellfire that killed many witches and pain that caused them suffering, a witch was born. Embodied with the hate of countless witches, this witch's power was drawn from the abyss.

Bounded by darkness, it is this witch's duty is to exact revenge, but this was not the wish of the present witches, they did not want to use a newborn child as a tool for revenge, thus they honored the wish of the witch couple that gave birth to it.

Peace for the witches did not last long after they were discovered, so they gave their lives to aid the escape of the eight year old child.

Lost without his people, his parent killed before his eyes, despised wherever he goes when his identity was discovered, the child grew to hate the world...

He became the very thing his people had wished he'd never be, an embodiment of hate and vengeance, a tool to exact revenge.
