When Mari got home, Her mother wasn't home. Her Aunt, on the couch, yelled at Marinette to get her some pop. She did, then rushed up the stairs to avoid her, mumbling something about Homework. In reality, the teacher just let them catch up to one another, talk about their summers. She found out that Alya was Canyoukeepthesecret, with resulted in Alya squealing excitedly as she squeezed Marinette. She found out that the one with headphones on his shoulders was Nino, and his best friend was the blond one, Adrien. She also discovered that Chloe, and her "friend," Sabrina, where the bullies of the school. Shortly after, she came over and fell onto Adrien, screeching, "Adriekins!" Marinette let out a snort at the nickname. It was fake, of course, but she wanted to get back at Chloe for that morning.

Sure enough, Chloe turned to glare at Marinette. "Excuse me? Is the trash laughing at my boyfriend's nickname?" Mari was surprised at that, but she didn't show it. "Chloe, for the last time, you aren't my boyfriend!" He says, angry. Mari forms a smirk on her face. Chloe's face was now very red. "Don't cross me." She growls. "My Daddy is the mayor!" Marinette snikered. The whole class was watching now.

"Oh, so your royalty? Excuse me if I only bow to the people who don't have sticks up their asses."

Chloe spluttered. Eventually, she huffed back over to her seat. Mari watched with a glare. She knew how to glare. She couldn't glare at her Aunt, no matter how bad she wanted to, so sometimes she couldn't help but glare at inanimate objects. This was the first time she had glared at a person. Alya slapped Mari on the back. "Dang girl, you rock! That she-devil's had it comin for a long time." Nino and Adrien looked impressed. "You don't look like one to swear." Adrein said, shocked. Mari shrugged. "I'm not."

Time skip she's at home now

She wanted to check her computer to see if she had any new notifications, but instead noticed an odd box. It was black with a red design on it. She picked it up. It was light, but there was obvious something in there.

She flipped the hinged lid open.

Out flew a tiny red light. Mari shielded her eyes. When she opened them, there was a tiny, red, floating...

Bug.

She held in a scream as she jumped backwards. The little bug held out two little limbs Mari assumes where sort of like hands. "It's okay!" The red bug said.

It talked

"What the hell!" She screeched. Her Aunt yelled at her to shut up she was watching a movie. Marinette quieted her voice. "What the hell." She whispered again. The red figure flew close to Mari's face, and she flinched. The bug looked at her with concern, but filed it away for later. "I'll explain everything. I promise. Just.... I need you to not freak out." Mari nodded silently, and the tiny thing smiled at her. It flew back, and began to glow. The glow grew brighter until Mari could no longer see the bug, and then grew bigger.

It flowed down towards the floor, making a human shape. She the glow faded away, a girl about her age stood in front of her. Mari just stared.

The girl stared at Mari. Marinette just stared back. "Are you going to freak out?" The girl said. Mari shook her head. The girl studied her, than shrugged. "Alright then. I'm a kwami. My name is Tikki. I grant people powers. Your power is the power of creation. Your special power is called "lucky charm." Say it when you are in superhero form, and a tool will show that will help you defeat the Akuma. After you spies the charm, you have five minutes before you change back. An Akuma is-" she was cut off my Marinette. "I know what an Akuma is, they talk about them on the news." Tikki nodded. "You also have the power to purify an Akuma. Chat noir has just been breaking the item and letting them go."

Let's just say that instead of duplication in Stoneheart, they just fly around like normal butterflies until the person that got akumitized was angry again.

"To become a superhero, you need to say, "Tikki, spots on!" With the earrings." She pointed to the box on the table, still open. Mari was inspecting them when she heard her Aunt screeching at her to get her lazy ass down here, she needed more pop.

"Who's that? Tikki asked. "She sounds mean." Mari just shook her head. There was no way she was letting a random- whatever see her Aunt, no one could, ever. "Tikki, stay here." She said firmly. "What?" She protested. I have to go with you everywhere!" She pouted, but Mari was burst trying not to freak out. She could not let the Kwami find out, or her Aunt would surely kill Mari, and Tikki too. She already liked, the emotional creature who seemed to really like the color red.

"It's not an option!" Mari said, unable to keep the fear out of her voice as her Aunt screamed that if Marinette wasn't coming down, she would come up. Tikki looked alarmed. "I have to go, and you have to stay here!" Mari whisper yelled. She ran towards her trapdoor when someone grabbed her arm.

In her hand was placed the earrings. "Put these in." Tikki said. Her Aunt's chair was squeaking as she got up. Mari didn't have time to argue with this stubborn creature. She put them in and ran down the stairs.

Unknown to her, Tikki had changed back into the bug, and followed Mari downstairs, phasing through walls.

When Mari finally met her Aunt, up from her chair in the living room, Helen's face was livid. "Where. Have. You. Been." She growled. Mari looked down at the floor, knowing what was coming. It stared with a hard blow to her leg, and a punch to her stomach. She fell to the floor as her aunt rained punches, always careful to not hit areas that couldn't be covered.

Tikki watched in horror.

When she was done, Helen pulled Mari up roughly and told her to go to her room. Mari dragged herself to the stairs, then looked up and wondered how she was ever going to make it up too flights of stairs. Then the tiny bug was in front of her face. She weakly held out her hands, and Tikki landed in them. "Tikki?" She whispered.

"Yes." Tikki whispered back. Silence. "Oh, I'm so sorry." Tikki said, tears beginning to fall down her face. She flew out of Mari's hands and transformed, catching Marinette as she fell. Tikki carries Mari up to her bed and set her on it. She placed Mari's head in her lap and cried as she dressed her master's wounds. How.... how long had this been going on? She wondered.

She knew who she needed to see.

As carefully as possible, she lifted Mari's head off her lap, and onto a pillow. Then she transformed, flying out the window.
