A/N: In this story you are a 4th year student at Beauxbatons, and your school is coming to Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament.

When Madam Maxine announced that your school was taking part in the Triwizard Tournament, and would be traveling to Hogwarts shortly, you were excited! Despite only being in your 4th year, you were just as good (if not better) at your schoolwork, spells, potion making, basically anything related to magic, then most of the 7th years. But then she said that you had to be of age. In other words anyone under the age of 17 couldn't participate. You were heartbroken. You tried to negotiate with her, arguing that you were just as good as the older students, that you knew the same amount of spells, but she was having none of it. She explained to you that it wasn't a matter of how good you were, but as a safety reason. It had been a rule ever since the tournament started, and that she couldn't bend the rules for one person. You sulked away from her office defeated.

The next couple weeks were spent talking about what was going to happen, who the champions were going to be, and most importantly, seeing boys for the first time in years! That was what you were most excited about. Going to the Yule ball with a boy!

The day of departure came and went and before you knew it you and your classmates were entering the Great Hall of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After we did our little dance, we watched the boys of Durmstrang do their performance and finally, the champions were chosen.

"The Durmstrang champion is Viktor Krum!" Dumbledore announced. Everyone cheered. The girls were the loudest of all. "The Beauxbatons champion is...." You held your breath even though you knew there was no way you would be picked. "Fleur Delacour!" When Dumbledore said Fleur's name you stood up and cheered loudly with everyone else. Even though you were disappointed, there was no other person you would want it to be then Fleur. She was the nicest ever and you were so happy for her.

"But y/n! I don't understand!" Your best friend Jess was lying on your bed complaining about how she didn't have a date for the Yule Ball yet. "I mean I'm pretty, I'm smart, I'm a fun person! Why don't I have a date yettttttt?" She moaned covering her face with a pillow.

"Chill out Jess! There's still three more weeks to the ball, I'm sure you'll be asked. And if you're not, we can always go together as friends." You say sitting down and patting her on the top of her head. She rolled over on her back to face you nodding.

"Okay y/n. We can do that. But you're getting asked." She smiled cheekily.

"Haha. I doubt that but a girl can hope I guess. Besides, I don't even know who I would want to take me."

"Mhm. Ok y/n if you say so. But we all know you have your eye on a certain 4th champion."

"What's that supposed to mean!?" You said amused.

"Oh uh nothing. Just that you like Harryyyyyyyy." And before you could say anything, she had leaped off your bed and ran out the door. You giggled to yourself. Wow she really gets me. You thought. I wonder how she knew. Am I that obvious? Oh well. I'll figure it out tomorrow. I'm tired. And with thoughts of Harry in your mind, you drifted off to sleep.

A few weeks pass, with no interaction with Harry other than smiles sent across the corridor or Great Hall to each other. It was obvious to everyone but yourselves that you liked each other. Harry really wanted to ask you to the ball, but couldn't bring up the courage to ask you. So when he heard that you had accepted a Durmstrang boy's invitation, he was heartbroken. He told Hermione and Ron that he didn't even want to go to the ball but they convinced him to take one of the Patil twins. At least if he went he would have the chance to dance with you.

Truth be told, you were sad when the ball drew closer and closer and Harry hadn't asked you. Not that you expected him to, or even thought he would, you just wanted him to. Eventually you accepted the invitation of a Durmstrang boy named Ivan. He was cute, but he wasn't Harry.

"Does this look okay?" You asked Jess, spinning turning to look at yourself in the mirror. You wore a dark red off the shoulder dress, with black heels. Your matching silver necklace and bracelet were paired with black earrings and y/h/c hair was tied up in an elegant ponytail.

"Absolutely! How did you get your makeup that good?" She asked excitedly, bouncing up and down on the bed. "It's flawless!" You blushed, looking down.

"Thanks

"Thanks. Do you think Harry is going to the ball?" You asked Jess. She nodded. "Oh. Do you think there's any way I'll get to dance with him?" She nodded again.

"Definitely y/n. You're gorgeous. Every guy is going to want to." You blushed again.

"Well I'm only interested in one."

~ At the Ball ~

You sighed as you sat down at a table. The ball had been a disaster. Ivan had left you the moment you got there to go makeout with some Ravenclaw. You hadn't been asked to dance once by Harry and now your feet hurt from so many boys stepping on them. You sighed again.

"Feeling down?" You started and looked up. You hadn't heard anyone approach.

"Harry?" You asked. "Um shouldn't you be dancing with Parvati?" Your heart was beating so fast.

"I was. But I'd rather dance with you y/n." He smiled as he held out his hand to you. "Feel up for it?" You giggled taking his hand.

"I thought you'd never ask." He pulled you up and twirled you around.

"Well you see, I never thought you'd say yes." From that day on, you two were inseparable. You transferred from Beauxbatons to Hogwarts to be with him, and you couldn't have been happier. Life was good.
