Bad beginnings, a tragic one indeed. A father had been taken to jail and was sentenced to death for thinking that love is not just when a girl likes a boy or vise versa. Here, that isn't allowed. In fact it's a crime. The Kims used to be one of the perfect citizen family with loving parents and obedient children. Since the government adored the family's perfection, they decided to let the man go after brainwashing him into forgetting about everything about his beliefs in love.

Till this day, the family hadn't known about what had happened. Well except for one person who witnessed the arrest of his father, their youngest child Seungmin. He wasn't dumb enough to bring it up because he knew that it would be confusing to the others. He also didn't want his dad to feel embarrassed, so he just kept silent.

Today was their first day at school in their sophomore year. Seunghye and Seungmin bid their goodbyes to their mother and father before walking to school together. "So, do you have a girlfriend yet, Minnie?" The elder sibling asked, looking towards her brother who maintained a straight face. "No, I'm not planning to get one soon." He answered staring at the ground.

"That's a bummer, I just got a boyfriend yesterday. He's super cute, I think you'd like him!" Seunghye exclaimed, already giggling about her said lover. "That's nice, I hope he joins us to dinner tonight." The boy stated, his voice in a low tone. "Why are you always so serious? It's like you're upset about something." Seunghye attempted to poke Seungmin's cheek and failed due to the latter quickly moving his face away from his sister's finger.

Soon enough, they got to school a few minutes early, about 20 minutes or so to organize their things. Since the two had more than a year in age difference, they made their way to different classes. Seungmin sat in the front window corner, which nobody would notice. He was the second one there as most of the students would be late. Well not all of course. A boy named 'Sam' sat in the other front corner. He seemed to have long blonde hair and always wore a mask for some apparent reason. Everyone spread rumors about him being gay but he had said nothing about it so nobody knows of he actually is or isn't.

It was very silent in the classroom, the only sound Seungmin could hear was slight music coming out of Sam's earbuds; signaling that Sam had it on full volume, literally blasting it. The younger had no problem with the music but was a bit worried about the other boy's ear so he went over and tapped him in the shoulder. Sam had looked up and made eye contact with Seungmin, taking off one earbud from his left ear. "Hm?"

"Can you maybe turn down your music? I have no problem with your taste, but I'm worried about how it might taint your hearing." The brunette asked with a slightly nervous tone as he was expecting a harsh reply. To his surprise, the older smiled softly and mumbled back in reply, "Thank you for telling me, I didn't know.."

Seungmin nodded, smiling back quickly before heading back to his seat quietly as a few more students headed in. Some of them pulled Sam's hair and called him a freak once they passed his seat, but the blonde didn't say anything and just sat there uncomfortably, rubbing his head a bit.

The teacher had came in abruptly after the scene and began talking to the students. "Alright kiddos, open your books up to page 325." Multiple students have taken out their textbooks and started to read.

Some girl who sat behind Sam threw a sticky note at him, making the boy pick the note up and reading it. 'Gay Loser." it read. He only sighed and tossed it in the trash can next to him. Students near by kept throwing sticky notes with insults in it until the teacher caught them. "Mind explainning why you're throwing sticky notes at Sam?"

A student replied, "He's a gay freak that's why." The teacher became furious scolding the students, "How DARE you use that insult. Being gay is ILLEGAL and I'm sure Sam here is anything but gay." The bullied victim shifted in his seat, being glad that his bullies were being taught a lesson.

A few hours of boring lectures and classes, the students were dismissed, meaning Seungmin had reunited with his sister to walk home. "So, did you ask him to join us for supper?" The younger asked, gripping his backpack straps. Seunghye nodded, "He said that he'll join, aren't you excited? Mum and dad will love him!"

Seungmin only shrugged, "It's just a boy, I'm not that excited I guess." He replied quietly before asking, "What's his name?"
