The curtains were closed, but it wouldn't be much brighter
even if they were open.
What little light entered my drafty room
was white,

It was blinding
Like the walls
Empty
like my hope
I picked up my morning coffee,
took a long sip
but my drowsiness stuck around
as I walked to the stairs
Just one more,
I told myself
*cough*
step,
*cough*
step,
*cough*
step,
I put my hand up to my forehead.
it was heavy
and hot
I sighed
it was even hard to walk downstairs
I shouldn't have gone
to bingo night at the nursing home
where it started from
one
one person's sneeze
and became everyone's disease
We should've stayed
at home
so the hospitals have enough space
for the sick
and 'flatten the curve'
I have no idea
what that means
but some just didn't bother listening
steepening the curve
it's not just their loss
it's about the thousands
that come from theirs
I only wished I was young
but then again,
who didn't?
