Emerald Forest Part 1

"So did you met someone else?" Ben asked to sisters. They were at the cliff and waiting for to be launched into forest.

"I exploded and met some heiress. Then I met this blonde guy named Jaune and that's it." Ruby said. You could say she didn't have a great start at school but let's see how story plays out.

"Well I was staying in a guest room, because of that I didn't had the chance to meet someone." Ben said. Last night Ozpin and Ben came up with a cover story to hide Ben's true origin.

"Why were you staying in the guest room? Aren't you a normal student like the rest of us?" Yang asked. These past minutes they have been chatting and in her opinion Ben was a cool guy.

To play the act Ben's face became a sad one. "Ozpin was a family friend and a week ago my family was killed in a Grimm attack. So Ozpin took me and brought me here." He said and fortunately sisters didn't notice his left eye twitched.

Ruby and Yang was shocked. They certainly didn't except this. Yang was the first to speak. "I'm so sorry. But now you have us too. I can see us become good friends." She said and Ruby nod eagerly.

Ben smiled at Yang's caring comment. In a way his words were true, he was from another universe and didn't have anyone here. "Thanks girls and I can see it too. And with my track record, I know that our friendship will be wild."

Ruby raised an eyebrow. "What track record?" Ben just smiled in return. "You'll see."

As soon as he finished his words, Goodwitch and Ozpin came in the scene.

"For years, you all have trained to became warriors." He starts as he take a sip from his coffe. "And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emeral Forest" He finished as he point the giant forest below. Glyanda then steps forward with her screen.

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about placement and assignment of your teams, and so, let us alleviate you about that thought. And put an end to your confussion." She said. Ben was listening very carefully so he wouldn't do something wrong. He kind always find himself in a mess after all.

"Each of you will be given a teammate... Today." She said. Upon hearing that Ruby squeaks but Ben and Yang keep their calm behavior.

Ozpin coughs and takes the lead. "These teammate will be with you for the rest of your time here in Beacon. We recommend and say that it is your best interest be paired with someone with whom you can work well with." He finished and causes make Ruby scared noise again. Ben wasn't that much worried. He was very adaptive after all. And new friends never hurts, unless they are jerks.

Ozpin starts again. "And that being said, first person you come into eye contact with after landing will be your partner for next four years." He finishes with a smile.

'I wonder how long I will be here' Ben thought. They didn't know how to reach this Salem or what kinda operation she's running at the moment. All they had was her name and look. While Ruby's mind shattered to pieces.

"I told ya." An orange haired girl screams to boy next to her. Ben looks at them. Girl has a giant hammer and boy has two pistols.

"After you've partnered up, make your way towards the northern end of the forest. And just to let you know, you will be facing opposition today. Whether they be Grimm, or anything else, do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path that gets in the way. Because otherwise... You will die." Ozpin said and made some student gulp. Ben didn't of course. He faced Vilgax or Diagon. Bunch of soulless animals was a joke to him.

Ozpin countines. "You will be gradied for and through the duration of the initiation. However, our instructors will not intervene. At the end of the forest path, you will fin an abounded temple which contains several relics. Each pair must choose one and then return to top of the cliff. That item will be regarded, as well as your standing. That, is what we'll grade you with." He finishes. After few seconds, he took another sip from coffee. "Now, are they any questions?"
