~Roman~
I quickly set up the chair like Colt asked me to do. I had already warned him I didn't think we wouldn't have time for this, but he's stubborn and wanted it done.
The pink hair dye sat on the table next to the chair what was atop sheets protecting the wooden floors. I started to lightly tap my foot on the floor waiting for Colt to get in an over sized shirt. He finally made his way over to me smiling, "You do know how to do this right?"
I shrugged, "I read the directions on the package, and we are short for time so that's as good as we are going to get right now."
He laughed, "You worry to much. We'll make it on time."
I rolled my eyes before starting to set up the dye like the box said to. Grumbling at him, "I'm going to have to drive so we will."
He smiled and reached for his phone to keep himself busy while I started to shake up the mixer so he could get the color he wanted. He had mentioned once before that he would like to dye his hair, but he just now picked a color. The same day we were supposed to go to his mother's for dinner. Sometimes I questioned his timing more then my own, and I was the devil here!
I could hear Bruce running around the house in the background exploring the house. I turned to Colt and grabbed his phone setting it on the table. He gave me a look and I sighed turning back to the device to turn on some music. He really liked this group called Chainsmokers so I played some of their music.
Then after making Colt happy with the music I started to put some of the dye in his hair. His hair was already so pretty, but I will do anything to make him happy. If he wants his hair dyed I will dye his hair. Even if I was going to be watching the clock like a bird watches a field mouse.
Bruce came up to Colt and placed his head on Colt's leg. He curled his upper lip when I brought the dye closer to Colt. I gave him a look and flicked him in the noise. I smiled down at him before continuing to do what I was doing, "As much as I appreciate you protecting Colt I would prefer if you didn't take my hand off to do it."
Colt smiled at Bruce then me, "I don't think he likes the gloves."
I smirked and looked at the clock again, "Or maybe he's saying we shouldn't have done it right before we needed to leave to go to dinner with your mother."
Colt gave me a pouty looked and then looked at Bruce, "Tell daddy that's not what your saying at all, because your a good boy who knows we will have time." Bruce reached up and licked Colt's hand making him laugh.
"See I told you he agreed with me!" I laughed and rolled my eyes before going back to dying his hair.
It took a little while longer then I was hoping it would, but we were finally done. Colt had done a pretty good job of sitting there for 15 minuets completely -or mostly that is- still. After I got the last strand done I nodded to him quickly slipping my plastic gloves off and into the old box along with the tube of dye.
After disposing of the gloves I went to the bathroom were Colt was washing off all the extra dye. I quickly stripped and got in with him helping him wash it out, making sure to be extra careful with his tender roots.
After washing his hair and making sure there was no dye on him. I turned off the water and helped him get dressed before getting dressed myself. Then I grabbed the car keys and Bruce's new leash. Bruce wouldn't leave Colt's side so I handed the leash to him knowing Bruce wouldn't hurt him. Colt walked Bruce over to the grass so he could go to the bathroom and then took him to the car opening the back seat door for him. Bruce quickly jumped into the car and laid down.
I put the keys in and waited for Colt to get buckled up. Once he was buckled he started to mess with the stereo. I didn't care about what he played just that he was happy.
Not even five minutes into the drive Colt was asleep. Well it gave me some thinking time. I had talked to Renetta yesterday and she told me that the priest was completely normal. Perfect even, never had a single speeding ticket, always tipped a poor person, always smiles at everyone, suspiciously perfect.
I couldn't figure it out. She had watched him for hours on end and nothing was out of order. I thought about this until we got to Colt's mother's house. I gently shook Colt awake and turned around whistling to Bruce. He lifted up his head and looked at Colt and whimpered. I reached for Colt's hand and squeezed it bringing him awake. I wanted to assure him his ex had suffered, but I couldn't without telling him something else I didn't want him to know. Somethings were better left unknown.
Once I had waited another minute I could tell he didn't want to wake up. So I got out of the car and grabbed Bruce's leash. After grabbing the Hell Hound I went over to Colt's door and opened it before gently lifting him out of the car. I carefully balanced him, and made my way up to the house. Opening the door wasn't hard with my powers so that didn't matter. Colt's mother was still cooking so I just took him to the living room and laid him down on the couch before signaling to Bruce to sit with him. I sat down next to his legs and smiled. Colt's brother was without Callie and sitting across the room writing on his computer, and Colt's sister and her boyfriend weren't here yet.
So I pulled out a book and sat protectively next to my mate. Guarding him while he was sleeping.
