This whole chapter was released on my Tiktok, so if you came from there you can reread it or if you would like to you can skip ahead to Chapter 2.

It would be lovely if this story was able to start like most others, claiming to be a normal evening just like any other, but that is just not the case. But then again with the Weasleys can any night be considered "normal." The entire wizarding world was facing the crisis of a oncoming war against Voldemort and his army. Tensions were high and people were scared, though through it all your favorite ginger's (+ Harry and Hermione who were staying with them like always) have been able to keep a positive attitude. They never missed the chance to all sit down and eat a family dinner together.

Tonight they were all gathered around the table patiently waiting for Molly to serve dinner when they started to hear lots of movement outside. Normally they would think nothing of it but since their was a war going on they all have their guards up just in case, everyone went silent as an attempt hear the sound better and determine what it was. Once it was quiet enough the noise became more distinct and they could all recognize it as what seemed like little footsteps. They would alternate from being loud and fast to being slow and quiet, like whoever was causing them was trying to sneak around, sprinting from place to place. Everyone's heads seemed to shift in unison as they followed the sound of the footsteps around the house. Molly had the best view due to her standing near the stove with dinner. She shifted her glance out the window that was above the sink and was able to catch sight of the cause of the noise.

"Oh good heavens, its a little girl!"

Her eyes were now fixated on the scene outside the window as the little girl scrambles around trying to hide in the tall grass and bushes that surround the burrow. Arthur walked over to stand behind his wife and see exactly what she was talking about. Sure enough right before his eyes was the little girl, skinny and dirty, wedged between two large bushes shivering as she frantically checked her surroundings to make sure no one is around her. Molly, still having those large mama bear instincts, had a hard time watching this happen before her without doing anything to help. She couldn't help but think about what it would be like if that was one her kids. The longer she sat there pondering it and watching the little girl, the more her heart broke, and the more her guard came down.

"I'm going to go get her." She stated turning to walk towards the door. "Dear.." Arthur started as if trying to get her to reconsider. "No Arthur, my mind is made up, she is harmless and I am not just going to let her suffer right outside my window." She said as she put her foot down about the situation. All the children exchanged looks at the table because they have all seen what happens when Molly becomes as passionate about something as she is being about this and they know that at this point it is better to just do as she says. Arthur seems to come to that conclusions too as he drops all signs of protest and concedes to her idea of bringing her inside. He does however insist on going outside with her in case something goes wrong.

With that the two if them head towards the door to go retrieve the girl. As soon as the door shut behind them all the Children scrambled to the window to catch a glimpse of the little girl which had caused so much commotion tonight and watching the following events with their parents unfold.

Molly walked slowly toward the back of the house, trying to get close enough to talk for her but not too close as to scare her off. Arthur hung back a little walking closely behind his wife and checking their surroundings to make sure it was safe for all 3 of them and their kids inside. Once Molly was around the corner of the house she cast a lumos spells to create a small light on the end of her wand. Nothing too bright that was overwhelming but just enough to climate the tension and fear the the darkness might cause. As soon as she did though the little girl's head whipped right over to where she was standing. Fear very clearly displayed on her face. Now that there was a little bit of light surrounding them, everyone was able to get a better look at the girl. She was super tiny, like she couldn't be more than 5 or 6 years old, and she was dangerously thin. She had warm brown hair that was all tangled up by her shoulders and big Doe green eyes that were so captivating but still Molly's eyes couldn't help hut wander to the large dark circles that were underneath them.
