ALEXIS POV
"You can't be serious Hunter, Amanda?" I exclaimed shocked and dumbfounded.
We were now only a month in our 6th grade year and things were already going downhill.
My mom and dad were fighting more and more lately. My big brother was dealing with his huge crush on his best friend, Cleo. And on top of that, my best friend since we were 10, Hunter, decides to become friends with the devil herself, Amanda.
"What's the big deal Lexi?" He asked genuinely confused.
"You know how I feel about her. Why would you even give her the time of day?".
"Look it's not like that. Her parents are going through some serious issues and I was just trying to help". I didn't buy that crap for a second.
My parents might be getting a divorce, but you don't see me using that as a way for people to feel sorry for me, do you?
"Yeah right. Soon enough you two will be dating and you will forget all about me". I said playfully, not realizing that somewhere into the future, that statement would come true.
"Yeah ok. Now, what's going on with Jackson?" He changes the subject successfully while I roll my eyes.
The last thing I want to talk about is how my older brother is once again being lead around by Cleo, who unanimously was voted the most beautiful girl in the whole school, beating out even the eighth graders as well.
"Still drooling over Cleo. I just don't know why he won't tell her. They're best friends! What best friends don't tell each other everything? I mean you would tell me if you liked me right?"
I questioned curiously but also a little worried with the outcome not knowing if he was about to spill his feelings to me.
"I don't know. If I was in his position, I definitely wouldn't tell unless I felt the same way. I just wouldn't want to ruin anything."
I let out a sigh I didn't know I had. "I'm just glad that we don't have to go through that."
"Agreed".
