"Because I love you."

Once I heard those words out of Jeff's mouth, I was instantly frustrated.

"Put me down." I commanded, and he obeyed.

I sighed once we were eye-to-eye again, seeing how he was hoping for a better reaction.

"Jeff, I don't love you. I'll put it simply like that, even if it crushed your hopes. We are only together in work only, and I have to say it would be nice if we were friends, but I don't like you any more than that. We're too different. You kill for emotion, I kill for survival. You have a carved smile, I have bite-marks. We don't even share a interest! And I'm only your proxy because I owe it to you, for you saving my life. You understand, right?"

"No, I don't understand!" He suddenly pulled out his knife, and I scrambled to miss his swing towards my heart.

There was the sound of rustling leaves and bushes, and Jeff was suddenly tackled to the ground by -

"Run!" Dark Link shouted over his shoulder to me, and I nodded before blurring out of there, to home to pack, to get anywhere away from the man with the Nightmare Smile.
