Surprise drop by and bad news

Naruto's POV

The flight to the sand village felt like an eternity and I can't afford that. My baby is dying and I'm losing chakra and blood fast. At this rate I'll be dead by the time I make it to Suna.

With the little boost from Kurama the bird flew a little bit faster. My eyes started to become heavy, my consciousness slipping along with the life of my child. What little chakra I had left I concentrated it to save the baby causing me to be even more sleepy.

"Naruto don't you dare close your eyes. Look...we are almost there, just stay awake a little longer. I'd rather die then lose you and this innocent kit."

"Kura...so tired... Can't stay awake much..."

All of a sudden wind rushed past my ears as I fell. Time seemed to move slowly as my heart rate decreased. As I waited for the impact of my body hitting the sand, I felt a pair of arms catch me.

With blurred vision, I tried to see my savior only to be met with the back of a hoodie with cat ears and a scared blonde beside the person. The last thing I heard were muffled voices saying something along the lines of " Damn it...Naruto ... awake...doctor...help...mari...aara now!" then nothing but darkness with one thought in mind

"Please save my baby"

Gaara's POV

"Naruto...where are you?"

I sat at my Kazekage chair in my office as I did some paperwork. Ever since the last time I saw my mate I've been feeling on edge. I never really liked the idea of Naruto going back to that hell of a village, where I couldn't protect him from the villager who still treat him like trash after all he has done for them.

I've been working with the current Hokage, Lady Tsunade on transferring Naruto here where he would be safer compared to where he was now. It took some convincing seeing as Naruto was her godson and the best shinobi the have ( even though the council would never really admit that) but she finally agreed seeing as it was for Naruto's wellbeing.

Naruto and I have been together since the chunin exams. After the whole 'Shukaku rampage thing' we became friends because we understood each other's pain. Then a year after that we found out that we were each other's mates which helped my situation because I had developed feelings for him.

Our relationship was kept secret until my siblings caught us making out in my room. They surprisingly took it well. Anyway, while Naruto was away, I built something for the two of us away from the villages. It was at the most secluded place i n the sand. A house in an oasis at the center of the desert. It had the perfect setting for the two us along with a few extra rooms for when we decide to have a family. To be completely honest, I never really saw myself as a parent but then again I never really saw myself in a relationship or as the Kazekage but here we are.

Just the thought of Naruto and I having kids caused a smile to appear on my face, which I'm sure shocked the anbu hidden in my office. That smile quickly went away as soon of he felt a shift in the sand outside of the village. A liquid dripped onto the sand.

'Blood'

The feeling of dread quickly came back as I thought of the worst case scenario. Before I could send the anbu to go investigate Temari came barging in the door with red puffy eyes filled with fear and tears. She looked like she'd been running a marathon. "Gaara... Hospital... Now!!!" Before I could ask why she grabbed on my arm like a vice and dragged me to the direction of the hospital. The closer we got the more the dread in the pit of my stomach increased.

We were met by the sight of a bloody Kankuro pacing in the halls of the hospital looking just as distraught as Temari. "Kankuro... what happened?"

"We... don't exactly know. One minute we were on our way to the gates and all of a sudden..."

"All of a sudden what?" I asked a little bit scared of the answer.

"W...we s...saw N...Nar...uto falling from the sky w...wi...with a kunai stuck out of his stomach. S...so we rushed h...hh...ere not knowing what else to do."

I froze as I heard the news. Naruto... My mate is hurt. Whom ever did this will pay dearly. As I plotted ways to destroy whomever did this, the doctor came out of the theatre covered in what I was assuming was Naruto's blood. Just the sight of it fueled my fear and anxiety.

"Oh Kazekage what a surprise the see you here. I only wish it was on better circumstances."

"How is he?"

"Well he suffered from major blood loss due to the stab wound. Most of his chakra was drained so he couldn't heal himself but we managed to stabilize him. However... due to the strain from his injuries, he um...had a...
miscarriage and um...lost the baby he was carrying. I'm sorry we did everything we could but..."
