after the little conversation, everything fell into a deafening silence,
is this what people mean by awkward silence?
I felt too much awkwardness and finally asked him something, "How long have you known your bestfriend?" I asked, "must be a long time for both of you to decide that living together is a good idea" I added,
"oh we've been friends since childhood, ever since I was 4? or something like that" he said with a little giggle, "he just moved here since he liked beautiful views and scenery" he continued
"Oh yeah I heard the scenery here is pretty too" I added, another silence followed
"Oh hey do you have a place to stay there, like a pre-booked apartment?" Kyle asked, before I could even say another word he butted in again, "Cuz if you don't Caleb has another spare bedroom in his apartment" he added to his previous statement, "Oh, but is it alright with him?" I shyly asked
"yeah, he said its cool to have new roommates, he said maybe you and him can be friends too" He said "wait... really?" I asked with a hint of disbelief and confusion... "he said I could live there?"
I continued, Kyle nodded, "great thanks!, you just saved me a thousand dollars in debt" I chuckled, followed by him laughing at my statement,
Hours passed, and we finally arrive at the airport, Kyle was awake the entire time and I... well
I was dead asleep
"Pssst. Alex... hey alex Alex!" Kyle woke me up, I woke up in a hurry and in cold sweat
"huh?... what..?" I mumbled as I opened my eyes to Kyle chuckling beside me
"dude we're here, let's hop off" Kyle said, We walked out of the plane, and into the parking lot
"Kyle!, Over here!" I heard a voice say, We turn around and saw someone flailing their hands towards us
"Kyle!, It's me Caleb!" Kyle ran to him and gave each other a hug, "Caleb, This is Alex, Alex this is Caleb"
Kyle introduced us to each other, "Nice meeting you Alex" Caleb reached out to shake my hand, I gave him a small nod, "Shall we head home?" He jokingly said with a chuckle, "We shall" Kyle answered, they both laughed hysterically, as if that was the best joke ever made in the history of jokes
