Now that you know what type of content you will be posting, its time to posting the actual thing.
WHAT TO DO BEFORE THE EDIT
One thing you should try do is a dt. dt stands for dedicated to. It when editors give shoutouts or dedicate it to a random person. (A/N, dt are also dedicated to the person they are editing, for example, if I edited Billie Ellish I would put " DT: @billieelish to get her to notice or let the viewers know who you're editing ) It sounds funny but it is a good whyto to give back to people and probably get some people early on your posts. It's also a good idea to announce that an edit is coming. So, if you have finished your edit, you might as post a story saying " in 10 minutes i will post an edit" and you can even say " the first person to comment 🌸will get a shoutout". People love shoutouts and will try to get as early as possible which they may even like the post. This are some good ideas to make your edits blow up or get actives. Always make sure to add watermark to prevent people from stealing your edits and claiming its theirs.
THINGS TO REALISE:
- that some edits are gonna flop. you may have like 1,000 followers and only 304 likes. It's fine and you'll just have to deal with it ( i promise you one day, if you keep on trying you will go big)
- some people, who don't want to do anything, will try steal your edits and claim it's theirs. Adding a watermark can prevent you from them stealing. Of course, some people still steal your edits. The best thing to do is to tell everyone that this is your edit so that they will realize it and probably help you. If the person continues to steal your edit, block them and report them to Instagram for stealing and claiming stuff and then tell other editors to watch out for her.
