The frog prince and a servant

AN/ Like I said this is my first fanfic ever. I hope you enjoy it. 

Once there was a kingdom that was ruled by a queen. The queen had only one son named Roman. They lived happily until one day. A dragonwitch attacked. Prince Roman obviously, brave as he is, wore to protect the kingdom. After a fierce battle he managed to beat the dragonwitch but not without harm. The dragonwitch inflicted Roman with a curse that turned him into a frog. The only way to break the curse was a true love's kiss.

The queen was devastated. Her only son was turned into a frog. Though Roman could still speak, his words didn't reach his mother. The queen ordered that every lady from the kingdom must come to the palace and give Roman a kiss. The rule would stand until the curse was lifted. Prince Roman would be put under supervision and remain in the palace.

-Roman dear?

-Yes mother?

-I have assigned one of our servants to look over you.

-Who is it?

-One of the newer ones, I believe the name was Virgil. He is around your age. I thought he could keep you company.

-Thanks mother.

The prince was to remain in a room with the servant until the curse was broken by one of the kingdom's ladies. The queen had offered the prince's hand in marriage and half of the kingdom to whoever can break the curse. Roman didn't like to be trapped inside but for sake of his mother decided to behave. He was delighted by his decision when he met Virgil.

-Your highness.

-You're Virgil correct?

-Yes my highness.

-Please call me Roman.

-Yes, Roman.

Though at first Virgil was quiet and tried to behave like a typical servant, the two quickly became familiar with each other.

-I'm tired of the endless kisses. When will this end?

-Well be happy that they all don't want to kiss you.

-Yeah. Some are too disgusted by this form, they wouldn't be my true love anyway. Though some girls do attempt again.

-And some run out of time. Well at least they tried right?

-But who is the one to change me back?

-Maybe you should kiss a frog and turn you both to humans.

-Hah! You're always so funny!

-Always will be, princey.

The two would tell each other stories about themselves. Roman would tell about his adventures and about life in the palace. Virgil would tell about his family and what it was like to be a servant. Soon Roman wanted only to spend time with Virgil and always dreaded the daily kisses. He would have given anything to just hear Virgil laugh at his funny stories and see the sweet smile on his face.

-Hey Virgil?

-Yes princey?

-Can you kiss me?

-Wha-what?

-Can you kiss me?

-But it's not proper of me to kiss you and what would your mother think?

-She wont know. Can you do it?

-I guess...

So Virgil did what was asked of him. He took the frog prince into his hands, shut his eyes and gave him a kiss. When he was finally brave enough to open his eyes, there wasn't a frog in front of him but a handsome prince. In shock Virgil parted their lips. Roman smiled at him and said "I love you Virgil". Virgil, still in a shocked state, replied "I love you too". "May I kiss my saviour again", Roman asked. "But the curse is already lifted", stated Virgil. "Just in case", Roman begged. So they connected their lips again. At that moment the queen walked in. Not only was she surprised to find his son turned back to human but also seeing the servant boy kissing him. When the two noticed the queen's presence they parted their lips. "Mother, this is my hero and the man I love. Will you give him my hand and half of the kingdom like you promised?" The queen stood in silence for a bit before saying "I am a woman of my words. Virgil, you have freed my son and won his heart. I'm happy to give you my son's hand". "Tha-thank you", Virgil stuttered.

So the news of the prince's return and about his saviour spread through the kingdom and everyone rejoiced. The wedding was under its way in no time. There were a couple of damsels who were bitter about the defeat but soon they also joined the celebration. So the kingdom was ruled by two kings in happiness and wealth for a long time.
