"Bad news" the doctor said you have an incurable and very deadly disease and you will not live longer than 1 month. After the bad news Jack took a walk in the local park, thinking about how he would live the last month of his life. But as he was walking an old man approached him looking paranoid as if he was being chased by something, the old man quickly gave Jack an old and sketchy looking book which seemed to date back to the medieval era.

After this incident Jack took the book and went to his house, once he was home he opened the book, surprised he gazed through the pages written in many different languages some which he could recognise and others not so much. But between the pages, one page caught his attention, this page contained scripts of an ancient fountain found in Boreal forest located in Canada, but it also warned of dangerous creatures called wendigos which protected the fountain.

He put in some thought into this and decided to go to that location and try to find the fountain. So the next day he packed up everything he needed for this adventure which his life depended on. Once he got to the forest he checked for any signs of where the fountain was located and surely there was a map leading to the fountain in the book. So then Jack started to walk through the trees in the direction where the fountain seemed to be on the map, as he was walking through the forest he had a sensation as if he was being watched but when he looked there was nothing. As he got deeper into the forest each time closer to the fountain he started to notice that he saw less animals. The sun was setting so he decided to camp out, but as he was setting up his camp he heard a loud distorted screech coming from his left, he couldn't see much but he could tell that this creature seamed about 9-10 feet tall, skinny, seemed to have deer like antlers, stinked like rotten meat but the only thing Jack could see clearly was the creature's red glowing eyes, it was then when he remembered about the creatures called Wendigos mentioned in the book. He quickly ran to the bag to get his revolver which had packed, when Jack turned around the Wendigo was running straight at him, he quickly shot the beast 4 times then it let out a loud screech before dropping dead.

Relieved, Jack let out a sigh and decided to not camp out because he didn't know how many wendigos there were in the forest so he kept walking. Jack didn't know how close he was to this fountain, but he wanted to get there fast because he was hearing a lot of screeches which didn't seem very far away. Jack walked for about 2 hour which seemed like an eternity but then he saw the moon light shining on something, as he focused more and more he noticed that it was the fountain so Jack picked up the speed and got there as fast as he could. When he got there he drank from the fountain and after he drank the water he started to get dizzy and then passed out.

When he woke up he was in a hospital bed gravely injured and the same old man which had given him the book was sitting next to him. Then Jack asked the old man what had happened, when the old man answered Jack was shocked by what had happened, the old man said that he had found him unconscious almost getting eaten by a wendigo after he got the old man gladly he got there in time to defeat the wendigo. Jack was shocked to hear that he almost got devoured by a wendigo. A couple of weeks passed and when Jack was ready to leave he asked for a health report, when he got it he asked the nurse if his report was wrong because his disease was not in there, the nurse said that the report was 100% accurate.

That night Jack went home relieved of everything which he had gone through including his disease which was now cured thanks to the fountain and the old man. And so Jack lived the rest of his life and passed down his story for generations.
