"There it is, right in front of me, my new house" I thought. It was about time my parents decided to move, but I knew the only reason they did so was because this house was so cheap. Surprisingly cheap actually, considering how good the conditions are. The ceiling was well made, and the walls were all painted with beautiful colors. This house came with two bedrooms. The main bedroom would become my parents room. Right across from theirs is mine. It used to belong to the daughter of the family who lived here before. They were a family of three, just like mine. Everyone around talked about this family because the daughter mysteriously disappeared one night. I've heard rumors that she ran away. Others have said that she was kidnapped. I personally believed that there had to be another reason, because it was mysterious. The family decided to sell the house and my family bought it.
I was unpacking boxes during the day. Suddenly I heard a loud thump. "What was that?" I asked under my breath. I couldn't tell where that noise came from. "Sweetie, what are you talking about?" asked my mom. "Oh nothing, sorry. I think I heard a weird noise, but I'm probably just sleepy" I said. "Go get some rest, and don't start thinking anything paranormal. You are very curious, but it's not good. Those videos are just messing with your mind. Now go get some sleep. We will unpack everything tomorrow" my mom said. "Don't worry. I won't keep watching those videos" I replied back. Back in my old house, I would watch paranormal videos often. I definitely am a curious person. I found it so interesting and unexplainable.
I laid back on the bed but couldn't fall asleep. Something was off. I couldn't stop thinking about the noise I heard earlier and how I couldn't tell from where it came. Suddenly I heard it again. "What?" I thought to myself. It seemed like the noises were coming from upstairs. "That's impossible though. This is just a one story house" I said to myself. Out of nowhere, I saw something running across my room. "AHHHHH" I screamed when I noticed it was a little mouse. "Great. No wonder this house was so cheap. There are mice here." I thought.
"Hey. Follow me" said a weird voice. I looked around to see who it could be. "Down here. Follow me!" said the mouse that I saw a few minutes ago. "This has to be a joke. I must be dreaming right now" I said. "No one else can hear me except you. This must remain a secret. I'm going to take you to the attic where you will get all the answers to your questions" replied the mouse. "This is a one story house, so we don't have an attic," I said. "Don't believe me? Follow me and see" said the mouse. Without thinking twice I followed it to see if it was true. I had so many questions and needed the answers.
Once we got in the attic everything was dusty and old. This was for sure one of the scariest places I've ever been in. In front of me was this huge painting in bad conditions. Even though an old blanket was covering the majority of the painting, I could tell there was a girl in the frame. I slowly lifted the blanket and it revealed that the girl in the painting was me. She had my same bright violet eyes and beautiful golden locks. Next thing I know, I felt my body getting light. I couldn't feel my legs or my face. In the corner of the room the little mouse whispered "I'm sorry, but this is where you belong" and then all I could see was darkness.
It's been around 10 years since mom and dad have tried to sell the house. I can't blame people for not wanting to buy it. Two girls went missing, and I'm one of them. I wish I would've told mom and dad this before I became the next victim of the never ending horrific cycle that this house has put me in.
I am now 20 years old and I'm still stuck in this huge picture frame in the hidden attic of the house. "Oh there she is, another curious little girl who will be part of us" I told myself as the new family came in. Time to bring the mouse.
