"I don't get why I have to go!" Melody cried out to her parents. "Because it's best for you!" Ariel exclaimed aggravated with her daughter's attitude."Listen to your mother." Eric said sheepishly. "Fine, I'll go just to make you two happy!" But little did her parents know that she wasn't going to go...well she is, but she isn't going to attend classes. "Pack your things, you're leaving tomorrow morning!" Ariel yelled to Melody who was up in her room blasting music. "Eric, maybe before she goes we should tell her you work at the school so she doesn't get upset". Ariel said quietly. "Yeah, maybe you're right." Eric said skeptically.

Ariel and Eric walked up the stairs and went into Melody's room. As they walked into her large bedroom, they saw her crying. She was sitting in her chair and her head was on her vanity. "Why are you crying?" Eric asked sympathetically. "Because I don't want to go to this stupid prep school. And plus you guys yelled at me. Or more like mom did." Melody said with a slight attitude."Honey, you are almost 17 years old and you are seriously crying over me yelling at you? " Ariel said without remorse. "Ariel maybe you shouldn't be so harsh, Melody is clearly upset." Eric said calmly. "Can you guys just leave me alone for once in your life." Melody said with an attitude. "Do Not give me that attitude young lady you will be grounded for a month!" Ariel exclaimed angrily. "How will I be grounded if I'm going to prep school?!" Melody snapped back. "Your father will keep an eye on you" Ariel said mischievously. "Wait what?! Are you seriously going to have dad be at my sides at all times?" Melody asked, confused. She didn't know why her mother would say that. Her mom knows she wants privacy. Maybe it's part of being grounded? But she never even declared that Melody was grounded. All of these thoughts were going through Melody's head. "Well, Melody there is something your mother and I have been hiding from you for weeks now." Eric said as he walked over to Melody. "I am so confused about what is going on" Melody grunts out. "Well Melody your father has worked at Auradon Prep for years now but we never told you because we were afraid you wouldn't want to go but since you don't want to go anyways we figured now was the time to tell you." Eric cuts in and says "You would have found out, either way, we just figured it would be easier for you to handle if we told you instead of you finding out on your own." Melody just sat there confused. "You work at Auradon Prep? And you didn't tell me? Why?! What have I ever done to you guys to make you hate me so much. First, you keep it a secret that mom was a mermaid and I am half mermaid and now this?! God you are the worst parents ever!" What Melody had just said shocked them both. They knew Melody wouldn't forget that they kept a very important secret from her, but they never thought she would use it against them. Then finally Eric decided to snap back at his daughter. "Melody I don't know what got into you but you better stop with this attitude or else you will never be allowed to go in the water again!" "Eric I don't thi-" but then Ariel was cut off by Melody. "DAD!!! You can't keep me from the ocean again! That's who I am and you can't change that no matter how much you want to. I know you hate the fact that mom and I are mermaids but you married her so you need to get over it!! You kept me from the ocean for 12 years of my life, you can't keep me locked away from the ocean forever!" Ariel took a step back for a moment. She didn't know Eric had this side to him. She especially didn't know that Melody and Eric could fight like this. "Look, I don't hate the fact that your mother or you are mermaids. But just remember that we kept you from the water to protect you! We are very sorry we didn't want you to get taken away from us!" Melody got up from her chair and went to her mom and hugged her and started crying. She was officially scared of her dad. She had no idea that her dad had this side to him.

                                                             THE NEXT MORNING

It was almost time for Melody to go to Auradon Prep and she and Eric haven't spoken since the huge fight they had the night before. "Sweetie maybe you and your father should talk things out before you leave for school." Ariel said lovingly. Melody just nods and walks over to her father and she apologizes by saying, "Dad... I'm really sorry about what I said last night. I was just angry and I shouldn't have said those awful things." Eric replies by saying "It's ok. I understand you were angry I was too and I am also sorry." After they have both apologized Eric and Melody hug it out. "I love you so much my Melody, I hope you always know that no matter how mad I am at you!" "I know dad I love you too, even when I say I hate you." As they pull away from each other, Ariel walks over and stares in awe at her husband and daughter. She is so happy that they are bonding again. "I love that fact that you guys are getting along, but we have to get going. So Melody, would you please go get ready?" Ariel says very sweet and happy.

Melody goes up to her room and gets changed. Once she gets changed into her outfit.

She gets her suitcase filled with everything she needs for school and just as she was about to go downstairs she hesitates. Melody walks over to her window and stares out into the sea, Ariel yells up to Melody "Melody, Honey come on you're going to be late!" "Coming mom I'm just making sure I have everything!" Melody replied. She walked downstairs and saw that her parents were waiting for her. They both smiled at her and they left. When she went outside, she saw there was a limo there to take her to school. All three of them got in the back seat and Melody rested her head on her mom's chest. "Everything will be just fine...I promise." Ariel said as she was playing with Melody's hair. "I know. I know. It will just be weird being away from you." Melody sighed and she sat up. "Melody, you'll have your father there throughout the day." "I know and I am glad he will be there but what if the other kids don't like me because I'm a mermaid" Melody sighed. "Hunny don't say that I'm sure you'll make lots of friends." Eric assured her. As Melody, Ariel, and Eric arrive at Auradon Prep Ariel sighs and says, "Melody, watch out for Uma, Ursala's daughter she's just as bad as her mother so be careful." Melody nodded. "Ok I will, and besides, Dad can protect me." As Eric, Melody, and Ariel are all saying goodbye to each other Melody sees someone out of the corner of her eye. "Delia!! Oh my gosh, I can't believe it since when do you go to Auradon Prep?" "I just got here a little before you did, I wanted it to be a surprise when you got to your dorm but we aren't roommates!" Delia replied excitedly. "I'm so happy you're here! I was so scared I wouldn't have anyone to hang out with but now we can hang out together." Melody exclaimed. "Uncle Eric I heard you're going to be teaching science class!" Delia said as she walked over and gave Eric and Ariel a big hug.

As Melody and Delia were walking up the path to the school, a boy approached them. "Welcome to Auradon Prep, I'm King Ben!" "H-Hi, I'm uhh." Delia cuts in "Her name's Melody and I'm Delia, nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you both.". A boy walks over to them, "Hi I'm Dough and I'll be showing you around campus." "I'll see you guys at dinner!" Ben exclaims. After Dough shows Delia and Melody all around campus he shows them where their dorms are. "Well here are your dorms, Melody yours is on the left, and Delia yours is on the right." "Thank you!" Delia says as Dough is walking away. "I'm hungry so I was thinking about going to get a snack, You coming?" Delia asks melody. "No, I'm pretty tired from the ride here so I think I'll just take a nap until dinner time." Delia walks away and Melody enters her dorm. "Hello, Cousin...."
