Everyday on his way to work, Mike passed by the old town park,or what was left of it. Many of the playset areas had been taken down, and the the flowers that used to grow had long died from their abandonment. It has been years since he had gone to play there as a child, and even longer since...well, he didn't like to think about her. He had always wondered what had happened, as his mom never explained more than she had that one day in the park. What had happened, was she okay? Was she even alive? Lost in his thoughts, Mike was soon yanked back into reality when a pedestrian suddenly darted across the street in front of his car.
"HEY, GET OUTTA THE ROAD, I'M DRIVING HERE!" Hollering in rage, he swerved his car around the skinny figure so he didn't bulldoze the twat. Straightening the steering wheel, he looked out his window and showed the stranger that "he was number one." The young man responded with wide, mortified eyes before bolting. What a wonderful way to set the mood for working.
Still frazzled from the stupidity of the world, Mike slammed the door open as he trudged over to his office desk.
"Hey Mike, get in here, I need a word with you." Oh great, his penny-pinching boss was probably going to tell him that he was going to go unpaid for today. Yay. Taking a deep breath, Mike made his way into Mr. Jone' s office.
"Take a seat, Schmidt, I have someone you need to meet. I'd like you to meet Jeremy, he'll be working with you ." As he caught sight of his new co-worker, he began to glare. It was him. Of course.
