Medusa returned a while later, Lyra heard the clattering of wood on the floor. "Whats that? She started. "I've brought a staff to help you walk. We can make our way out together." Medusa helped Lyra to her feet. "Do you feel dizzy?" she asked. Lyra felt a bit wobbly but she was determined to get to that hut. She didn't like the thought of Medusa being at risk. Medusa started to make her way back to her caves. Lyra, feeling her movement, blurted out. "Thank you for looking after me, I will miss your company." Medusa smiled and responded quietly as she faded into the darkness. "Me too."
Lyra made her way into the place she thought of as her sanctuary. She inhaled the familiar scents of goat, cheese and wool. Out of habit she reached out to light a lamp, then remembered she had no need of lights anymore. Wearily, Lyra made her way over to her bed, feeling her way across the familiar room. She slid under her blanket and went to sleep wondering how she was going to make her way to the village tomorrow....
