Everyone knew about the war but no one understood it. There was no history of the reason it started and how it ended 100 years ago. The only thing people knew was that it was the end of all that was chosen great power. Several people had extraordinary abilities that made them excel with an ability but after the war it all ended. The war took 20 years and this period is called the Vacant Space. Although such a mystery existed, it was a household rule not to speak much about it. The world had been accustomed to the change and only the children in their dreams were hoping of such powers to come exist again. Within that, there was a child born. 30 years from present time, a boy changed history and started the Catalyst Era. Number 1 superhero, come to be known as Amplify. After he was born, there were many others to be born with powers. Onyx, Solstice, Night Watch, are the few that are amongst the 1st generation that came after Amplify. Unfortunately not everyone is granted these abilities. Only about 1/3 of people that are under the age of 30 have powers and the rest has to watch in awe. Many people protest against these laws that allow powers to be in use but wether it is from jealousy or unfairness, there is someone who loves powers like no other. Jack, having posters on his walls of every superhero anyone could think of thrives on the thought of having superpowers, even though his parents, including himself, doesn't have a single one. That doesn't stop Jack from wishing every night that he may get even the worst superpower so that he feels he is a part of something. This is the story of the despairing Jack.
