Alternative ending - Even death couldnt beat the potter luck

*NOTE: In this ending Harry did not get his back broken so he is not paralyzed. I mean his body is fucked enough where he can't move much regardless. His hand is still crushed. Let's just say Vernon decided to play some football and soccer with Harry's head as a "final killing" injury, as the broken back was in the original. (We all know that it wasn't actually the killing blow cuz Harry would have been dead in a few more days for way more serious issues then a broken spine lol)

The order of the phoenix was calm, as calm as can be for being the leaders of light in the wizarding war. Hence, everyone focused on their jobs and missions for the war, that is except for 2 people, Sirius and Remus. They were restless, a deep itch inside kept them worried and anxious. At first they couldn't figure it out no matter how hard they tried, they both talked about it but nothing. So during the week, the pacing, fluttering of stomachs and restless nights grew with each night. It wasn't until two days after Harry's weekly letter that arrived while they were in their room that they were suddenly shaken. In that moment they both felt something ache in their chest. They both stared and looked at each other weirdly, neither knowing what the weird feeling inside their chest was. Never had they felt anything like that and frankly it scared them. Normally they would have just blamed it on the anxiety and worry they've been feeling all week but they're not that stupid. Something like that to happen simultaneously was not a coincidence.

''What in merlin's name was that?'' Sirius demanded, exasperated as he rubbed at his chest.

''How would I know? Despite what you believe, I'm not all knowledgeable'' Remus replied curtly.

''Well i'm sure you have some inkling, we're the only ones here with a bond. Now i'm no genius but I think that whatever happened touched our bond. It's still fine but its... off.''

''More than what I would have guessed. Hmmm, yes you're right. I can feel the mating bond still there, nothing cracked or broken thank merlin. But that doesn't answer the question of what happened.'' Remus trailed off

''No it does not''

''There's only a few things I know off the top of my head that can affect bonds''

''Well, what the hell are you waiting for! Get your fluffy ass down on the couch with me and tell me'' Sirius grinned.

Both Sirius and Remus took a seat on the couch together in their rooms. As usual Sirius laid sprawled out taking up half the thing while Remus sat in the middle with Sirius feat across his lap.

''Well we have a mating bond since you're my mate so that limits explanations. Possible effects are our relationship, so if we had a really bad fight that had anything to do with our love or bond or if we did anything to break each other's trust, the bond would take immediate action regardless if the other knew. If something happened to any of our kids, or any legal documents changing'' Remus explained.

''Well its clearly not the first one for 2 obvious reasons'' Sirius concluded easily.

''And why would that be?'' Remus teasingly asked, smiling like an idiot very much in love.

''Because I love you too much and nothing will ever change that. Plus we weren't fighting nor could we have done anything untrustworthy since we were standing side by side. We don't have any kids, at least not yet, that got a blush out of Remus, or any legal documents so are you sure that that's it Remus? Wait do we have any legal documents stating our bond?'' He now asked, quite startled, as if he missed the world ending.

Remus just chuckled ''No love we don't have any documentation. I'm a werewolf remember? Plus, who would even get anything about their bond documented? Seems almost degrading if you ask me. I'm sure, those are the only reasons why something would somehow affect us like that ''
