"I-I'm sorry, Joe," Sav spluttered, knowing he was yet again in the wrong. He knew it was wrong, but it didn't change the obvious.

It didn't change the fact that he was this close to losing Joe forever.

He'd failed to think of it from Joe's perspective, had failed to realize how much Joe would be hurt. How much he would be hurt if the roles were reversed.

Of course Joe was mad. Put off. Angered beyond the point of never speaking to his love again, and then some.

"Please," he breathed, reaching out.

Joe stepped back, shaking his head. "Please what?"

"Don't leave," Sav finished, tears brewing in the endless blue of his eyes. He blinked them away furiously, knowing he had no right to cry, but yet a few managed to splatter sickeningly against his cheek.

"And why shouldn't I?" Joe hissed, voice tearing through Sav's heart like dozens of tiny knives.

"Please, I... I don't know what I'd do with myself if I lost you," Sav whimpered.

"So that's why you got it on with Steve? Because you love me so much?" Joe's menacing voice dripped sarcasm like acid to Sav's shattered heart.

"No, I—"

"Forget it, I don't want your excuses." Joe finished, waving a dismissive hand through the air in front of them.

And, with one last, loving look into Sav's ocean eyes, Joe left the room.
