She thought that it was crazy how often she heard him. Even when they weren't together she could hear him in her head. Whispering sweet nothings or words of encouragement until they could see each other again. She thought it was sweet, a little crazy but nevertheless sweet. She always expressed this to him and every time he smiled and shook his head with the same response.

"I'm closer than you think." She always queried on what he meant and he could never give a response.

Sarah always assumed she was slightly off her rocker but she had never expressed her concerns to anyone. Yet as she looked at the deed she had just done she realized that maybe she needed to tell.

She had awaken in a cell caked in blood and as hard as she tried to remember the night before she couldn't. Sitting up to wipe her eyes she stopped when she felt a crust of some sort. Frowning she looked at her hands and as her eyes widened in horror she couldn't stop the sharp squeak that came out of her mouth. The blood was caked on her hands but dried on her cotton summer dress. It looked like a crimson dye had been smeared on her dress. She could feel it on her forehead and on her cheeks and she started to cry as she still couldn't remember what happened.

"You're alright bunny, look I bailed you out let's go." She was confused as how he knew she was locked away until an officer unlocked the cell and called her name.

"Sarah Thompson, lets go." She stood up and wiped her hands on her dress staining further before smiling at the detainees in the cell.

"Thats right bunny keep a smile on that pretty face of yours." She grinned at his voice and walked out front gathering her belongings in a bag and leaving to retrieve her car before pulling off. In the small town she lived in word got around fast so she knew her mother must've knew about her detainment.

Glancing over at the passenger seat she saw him and got a giddy smile on her face.

"How'd you know where I was?" He smiled, something she noticed never reached his eyes like his other emotions, and shrugged.

"I always keep and eye on my bunny." The light turned green and they rode in silence for a while before he grabbed her stained hand and ran a thumb over the back of her hand. At a stop light she turned to him.

"Do you know what I did?" He paused before a grimace set on his face.

"You hit a deer, tried cover his wounds and stop the bleeding before you tried cpr. He's fine but you got a little messy and you were speeding." He seemed unsure of what he was saying but she nodded believing his story. As they pulled up to her house he was gone and she shrugged before getting out the car seeing the blood on the front and sides of her car. Sighing she walked in her house and went to see her mother.

"Mama? Are you home? Im back!" She called out but the house seemed empty. Walking up the stairs and entering her room she saw her mother cowered in the corner holding a gun. Her mothers eyes were dark and determined and she immediately walked to her. Her mother retaliated taking the safety off and aiming it at her in one swift move.

"Mama whats wrong? What happened I'm only here to help?" She was scared of her mother something she had never been.

"You stay that fuck away from me. You-you better back away! Sarah Anne I will shoot you." Her mothers voice was strained and she had tears threatening to spill over.

"Kill her sarah." She gasped at her lovers harsh voice and words.

"She is my mama I cannot kill her" her mother looked at her confused, hands shaking still holding the loading gun.

"She is threatening us Sarah." As he said this her mother fired one off barely missing her face.

"Mama calm down what is wrong!" She was angry, how dare her mama try and kill her. Reaching over on her mothers nightstand she grabbed the letter opener and started towards her mother tears in her eyes.

"There you go Sarah, its for the best. Repeat after me, for us." Sarah nodded.

"For us."

Her mother fired another shot before the gun got jammed and she panicked to jump across the bed and escape. Sarah grabbed her foot and pull her to her shoving the letter opener into her leg ignoring her mothers howls of pain. She dragged it down her leg leaving a large gash and blood spilled onto the bedspread.

"You should have finished her off last night bunny." She paused at her lovers words before removing the letter opener and thinking. Last night came back to her and she realized she had hit her mama. She hadn't tried to help her she clawed at her skin leaving gashes and as her mother tried to fight back she bloodied not only her but the car and the dress.

Looking up her mother was gone.

"You let her get away. Go find her right now." She slid down to the floor and shook her head no.

"You arent real." She could feel his panic. "You never were"

"Yes I am sarah think about all of our late night talks and our late night kisses"

"You arent real you never were what are you!" She screamed her voice gradually getting louder. Pulling at her hair and pounding on her head she felt like crying. He had ruined everything for her.

"Yes I am sarah yes I am." His words echoed in her head until she picked up the gun and silenced him. And for once she has lost all the voices and Sarah Anne Thompson was at peace.
