I am Sadie Shaw 24 years old, grew up in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I think it's a really shitty place if you ask me. When I was 8 years old my mom died on an overdose on heroin. For two years my dad was very depressed. He was so depressed and couldn't live with himself, he committed suicide and my brother Devin and I had no where to go. He was 12 at the time while I was ten. Devin and I weren't very close until our parents both passed away. We had to ask family and friends to stay with them because we had no where to go. It was very rough to keep asking people to live with them that sometimes we had no place at all and we slept underneath the slides at local parks. I am now 24 years old suffering major depression from the trauma Devin and I lived through. This is my story.
