"Tyler!" Richard shouts as I shut Daniel's front door behind me. I look around the room, to see about 20 other people standing around, playing beer pong, and playing Daniel's nintendo 64. I smile, a little confused. I thought that tonight Daniel wanted to have a quite night, just the two of us, why is everyone here at.. 10:30 at night? I'm not mad though, I should have half-expected this. I walk over to Richard at the beer pong table, as he makes a bounce shot in.
"Nice shot, Rich. getting better and better every time."
"Thanks. I'm glad you're here. I acctully brought you a surprise." Richard slurs. I can already smell the beer on his breath. He walks me to the freezer and pulls out a bottle of whiskey and smiles. Richard knows me all too well. He has always been my drinking buddy, and a few months ago, we started a new faze;friends with benefits.
"You should'nt have Rich!" I smile and give him a quick hug, before taking the bottle from his hands. I really wasn't trying to get wasted tonight, but if he wants to throw this at me, then the least I can do is accept the gift.
"Where is Daniel?" I ask, almost shouting over the loud music coming from upstairs.
"I think he's in his room." he says, getting just a bit too close to my face, letting his beer breath all over me. I turn down the hall, and start up the stairs, and find myself pushing threw a small crowd to get to Daniels bedroom. Once in the door way, I see Daniel cracking open a new beer. Tonight is deffinitly not going to be as quite as I thought.
"Daniel! What happend to our quite night, due to you're hang over earlier?" I shout. The music pounding threw his stereo is way too loud. It's amazing how Daniel throw's a party practicly every night, cars all over the drive way, music blairing, and it never gets busted. I guess living in the middle of the woods has it's perks.
"The only way to cure a hangover is to drink. Thats what i've been told anyway!" Daniel screams. I laugh and walk across the room and sit in his big recliner chair. Daniel really can throw down a great party, and after all, that is what he's famous around here for. I twist the cap off of my bottle and take a big gulp. Daniel smiles and holds up his beer to me.
"CHEERS! to, well.. sobriety!" He shouts. Everyone lifts their drinks in the air.
"Tyler! Wake up already!" I hear Daniel shouting. I open my eyes and see Daniel sitting in his computer chair, rolling a cigarette. His dark hair is tossled and messy, his white v neck as pink little spots by the collar, he must have spilt a drink on himself in his drunken stupor last night. The room smells smokey and bitter, and is way too warm to be comfortable. It is however, surprisingly clean, despite the ton of liquor bottles and beer cans lining the floor.
I'm still in my big recliner chair, covered up with a blanket. That's one thing that I love being friends with Daniel; he makes sure that no matter who else is over, that I sleep on that huge recliner in his room. Daniel may have a party every night, but he always shuts his door when he thinks it's time to go to bed, and no one else has permission in. I am the exception however. Daniel is 20 years old, and majority of his friends are around the same age, making me the youngest almost all of the time. Daniel has always been rather.. protective of me; with that being said, he doesn't want even his friends trying anything. So, he always makes sure that I end up in that chair before he calls it a night.
It's funny, because I used to always get worried that one night I'd be denied my chair in Daniel's room; because he'd have a girl in his bed. But, so far, it hasn't happened. I never see Daniel with girl's at the parties. It's not that he's ugly, because he isn't, I've heard girls talk about how hot they think he is before. I always ask him, but he just always shrugs and says that he doesn't waste time on women anymore, all they wan't is to get him "whipped" and that he won't put up with it.
I rub my eyes and give a big stretch. Then look back at Daniel with his ciggerette hanging out of his mouth, searching around his computer desk and floor. He need's a lighter, he always looses his. I reach in my pocket and toss him mine.
" Thanks. So, what kept you last night anyways? If I recall correctly, you didn't show up until.. about eleven? He asks while putting the lighter to use.
" I went to the cinema and a coffee shop for a while" I explain.
" Cinema and coffee, over my party? thats unusual. Who accompanied you?" He asks. Daniel always gets overly interested with who I hang out with when i'm not with him.
"If you must know, Andrew took me." I brag. Daniel looks at me, and raises his eye brows. He looks nearly disgusted.
"Oh god, Tyler. Richard told me about that kid. He's new and from what I understand, a douch bag." He complains. I don't take it to heart. Daniel always does this about every guy I talk to. Months ago, when I had a thing going with Richard, and Daniel bitched and bitched about it. Calling him gay and every other name in the book. Then I introduced the two of them one night, and now, what do you know, they're best friends.
"Well, we're dating now. So, Mr D, I don't know what to tell you." I say in a playfull tone, and smile at Daniel. He starts laughing.
"You're going soft on me kid." He says sarcastically, as he examines a beer can, checking to see if there is a gulp left inside. He tosses it into the trash can, after seeing it's empty. I reach into my back pocket, and pull out my phone.

Andrew: Had a great night :)
Amanda: DONT FORGET ABOUT THE BIO PROJECT!
Shit. My grade in bio is boarder line failing, I need to do that project today. I stand up and slip my boots on. Daniel shoots a look at me, and throws up his arms in disbelief.
"OH, and now it begins! Ty get's a new boyfriend. Comes to my house, just for a place to drink. I leave some breakfast downstairs for her, and am even kind enough to wake her up so she doesn't sleep all fucking day! and what does she do? She leaves me, to sit alone, so she can go be with her hubby. Classy Tyler." I can tell that Daniel is joking, but he really doesn't want me to leave. I laugh and walk over to Daniel patting him on the shoulder.
"Thank you for the wonderful night Daniel, But Amanda reminded me about the Bio project that's due tomorrow. I haven't even started. I need to go." I explain and rub the top of his hair, somehow making it messier then before. He starts running his hand over his dark scruff that lightly covers the entire bottom half of his face, as if he's thinking. He picks up a pipe and lifts it up to me.
"Lets smoke. It'll make you be able to concentrate." He pushes.
"Can't Daniel. I need to do this, I can't put it off this time." I say in a firm voice. The thing about Daniel is that he is probably the most convincing person you will ever meet, he can really make anyone do anything. Again, I am an exception to this well known fact. I have known him long enough, and to know how to deal with his shenanigans.
"Like I said before.. you're getting soft on me Ty." He puts down the pipe, and reaches into his drawer for what he likes to call, his "bag-of-goodies". I start walking out the door into the hall, down the stairs, threw the kitchen and out the front door to my car.
Sorry this chapter is a lot shorter; But I wrote it, just simply for the reader to be introduced to Daniel. What do you think about him? I would love love love some feed back, especialy on this chapter, because i'm a little unsure if I like how Daniel's personality is going to be taken from what I wrote.
