Chapter 1

The library is the quietest room in the castle. It's only source of light is the bright yellow candle flickering in the darkness. Of course being me I bring some myself making it easier to see.
'Armin stop crying'.
I cringe hearing the sobbing from my best friend. He continues to smudge the ink on the white pages with his tears.
"Armin stop" I say aloud. He shakes like a bird with a broken wing. Armin hugs himself dropping the book with a thud.
"Armin"
The crying begins to hurt my ears.
"Armin shut up" I shout hearing my voice echo and bounce off the walls. Armin chokes on his sobs heaving.
"Sorry"he stutters sniffing. I grab a wad of tissues from the table across and shove them in his hands. He nods weakly snorting into them. The sounds of his nose blowing into the tissue is loud and makes me flinch. Armin finishes throwing the used tissues into the trash.
"Wash your hands" I mumble almost demanding.
"I know" he stumbles out the door almost tripping on the old floor boards.
I'm alone now,slumped against a shelf of dusty books. No one ever dares to come in here besides Armin and me, and sometimes Eren. But that is when he just got into a fight with Jean. I think the reason why no one steps foot in here is because its Commander Erwin's library. I don't think he cares anyway. Armin walks back into the room his face red with dried tears on his cheeks. Pity washes over me.
"Oh Armin" I say wrinkling my nose. Armin looks up at me his ocean blue eyes filled with tears.
"You think I'm weak....don't you?" He asks practically choking on his words.
"No"
"Don't lie"
I guffaw.
"Why would I lie?"
Armin doesn't answer, instead he plops down next to me and holds onto me tightly. I let out a unattractive noise. We're silent for the next 3 minutes, we stay together like that with no protest.
"Im scared" Armin whispers in my hair. I nod chewing on my lip.
"Im scared too" I admit softly shutting my eyes.
