"rObErT fEtCh mE mY sOcKs" he says,
As I just got finished putting away all of the laundry.
All of the laundry he just waited for me to put away. Why of course what do I say? Hmm? What occurs when this happens? I tell you like a good servant I say the typical..."Right away sir! Will you be needing anything else Master Daungry?"
Then of course he would just wave his hand like I'm a little service puppy dog and whisk me away. Usually by the time I come back he already has something for me to do. But, that was Master Daungry for you. Your typical, spoiled, pass me down your riches because your dead, you have paved the way for me brat!
Then his wife? Oh please don't get me started about his wife, she is the impity of Miss Teen Pageant and all that other bullshit around here. They have no respect for hard working people like myself.
I am the sixth generation of servants within my family. This is my duty. My job. Hell it was my honor. Ungrateful bastards. The way Lady Daungry treats Gloria the maid is repugnant.
Breaking us up into two I was supposed to handle all the fetching needs as well as some washing. Gloria is supposed to handle all of the children's needs as well as cooking and cleaning. I was the servant and she the maid. Just last week Master Daungry slapped Gloria across her face for his food was cold. What did Lady Daungry do? Nothing! Not a thing just hold her head down. This is our life, and this is our final straw.
"Robert? Robert?" Gloria snapped, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"You really need to stop throwing their clothes!" She said as she picked them up off the floor.
"They'll be alright. I wash them anyway." I replied aggravated.
"No, correction I wash them!" Gloria stated folding them back up neatly making sure to tidy them away.
"Sorry alright. I'm just tired!" I mentioned finally finding the socks.
"I mean look at your face Gloria! He had no right to do that!" I said touching her bruise she tried her best to cover with make-up.
Her cheek was hot with a purple tint behind it.
"Well-" she snapped her face away from my hand.
"It's not like I saw anybody coming to rescue me from my corner? I can handle myself alright. I have all this time and I will continue to do so!"
Right before this conversation turned into a heated argument the children came home and Master Daungry was yelling for his socks. Looking at Gloria I wanted to say something but there was no time left. Duties called and we went our separate ways.
The day was long but we were finally done for the evening. It was quitting time and all was said and done. Down in the master's study you could hear Lady Daungry yelling at Gloria. After awhile she stormed passed me like I was invisible.
"Gloria wait!" I called out.
Her feet kept moving at a fast pace. Finally, catching up with her which seemed like forever she stopped.
"Leave me alone Robert!" She snapped
"I was just giving you your coat that you left! It's cold out here you're going to need it!" I said handing it over.
"Thanks" she whispered and carried on into a little diner where I followed.
After a few cups of coffee and breakfast food for me…Gloria was finishing up her last little bit of French fries. When I looked at her I loved the curliness of her fro. The chocolate that rested upon her skin and we'll the smile that planted her lips.
