Leo had kept in the shadows for months about his abusive father.he didnt even like calling him dad so he started calling him his 'old man'.
You didnt think to much of it,when ever you went round his dad was never there so you just assumed their relationship wasnt the strongest.
One saturday you were bored out of your mind.you wanted to hang out with Leo so being neighbours you decided it would be easier to just go over and see.
You went up to the front door to see it slightly gapped open.youd looked out your window five minutes prior and his dads car was outside but now it wasnt.
You entered with furrowed brows.
"Leo?" You called confused why the door was left open.quiet whimpers echoed.
"LEO?" You shouted to hear them stop almost as if he was trying to stay as quiet as possible.
You looked around the house to see Leo crying against a wall with the wallpaper partly riped off.
You immediately went over to him and engulfed him in a hug.the broken boy hugged back and cried into your shoulder.
You pulled away and carressed his reddened cheek but he winced.
"Sorry" you apologised as you took it away.
"How long?" You asked but he looked confused-you were unsure if he was faking being confused.
"This,he hurts you doesnt he?" He sighed in defeat
"Dont tell anyone though?" His eyes were glossy and his face was wet.his eyes were pleading.
"You need to tell someone Leo this cant carry on" you shook your head while stroking his other cheek.
"You can come stay at mine..just..please i want you to be safe"
He nodded his head before going to pack some things.
