Verena and me were chilling in the Barrens, laying on our backs and looking up in the cloudless sky. We were wearing bikinis and shorts and already went to swim. It was about 30 degrees. Finally end of working day. Music was playing, Carlie and the Bhoys, Pink Floyd and Gary Numan of course. I loved those bands, this music was so well to relax. „Hey Lena, I think I could really like Derry, and with you it's fun anyway." „I know what you mean. Just the same was runing through my head. Two stupid one thought. We've found each other."
„I thought you are no Lesbians!", we heared a voice behind us calling. I turned my head and got up: „Oh no, this cannot be true, you have to follow us. Do you have nothing better to do?!" „My dear, we are just cuising! Not our fault when you hang around here in your tiny swiming clothes." It was Henry steering with sunglasses in his silly face. Victor, Belsh and Patrick joined him as usual. Verena was looking to them as well. It seemed to me like Henry was checking me out. I turned my back on them again. Ignoring was the right thing to do. Verena seemed to be of my opinion and took some fruits. But it was no fun, when you got watched and they didn't seem to leave. „Hey, I thought you would be cruising around. As far as I know, the car must be moving to do so." „Don't be so tense, we are just listening." „Yeah, sounds good!", Patrick agreed, laughing. The others did too. I really started to get annoyed. Willie Malley was playing. „I did not know you like sucker!", Henry said suprised. I got up, walking over to them. They looked at me. „Sure, my favourite hobby." „Really?" „No!" „No", Victor and Belsh aped me. I lookd over to Verena, she just shrugged her shoulders. „Henry", I began, leaning forward at the open window. „Listen, boy." He looked at me very suprised. „This thing here is the gear shift. And this is the coupling. If you make it to bring these two together, you can make it move." He was chewing his chewing gum, looking very suggestively. „Yeah, I think so", he replied. Patrick could not hold his laughter anymore. I shook my head, left the car and sat down again. They still were laughing and smirking. Verena gave me a pity look. „How do guys like you stay alive that long?", I asked. „Do you even make it to unlock the door in the morning?" „We even make it to the toilet!" I got laughter from all sides again. Now I decided to do as Verena and ignored them. It didn't help much. They really stopped the enine and finally decided to stay here too. A few meters away they sat down, chuckling and looking over. "You really got a strange taste of music...", Henry yelled. I turned my head: "Fine then! Maybe you like this better!" I turned on same old situation and smirked over about their stunned faces.

It was the week in which the Derry summer festival took place and I decided to go there on Saturday evening. As the fairground was not far away from my house, I decided to walk. It was a great evening with popcorn and cotton candy, pommes and shooting galleries. Unfortunately Verena could not make it this weekend, but I knew some people in Derry, to which I could talk and so it was a funny evening either. Short after midnight, when the booths got closed over and over I made my way home. It had thundered already several times and I hurried up, to get home in a dry state. Of course I was not successfull. I hardly walked ten minutes, when all locks opened above me and a big storm rised up. Just in time I could find myself a protection beneath a little bridge; I got a little wet and the wind also began to rise. I swapped my arms around my body, trembling. Rain did not stop. Suddenly lights cut through the dark; rain was that strong, I could not see much in the beginning, but then I realised a car driving towards me. I started thinking; should I beckon? It could be anybody. Slowly rain subsided and I stepped on the street. The car moved towards me and stopped. I still did not know who it was. A little nervous I watched the ca. Then the window turned down and I recognized Henry Bowers sitting inside. „Got a little wet, huh?" „What are you doing out here so lately?" „Just driving around. You don't want to get in the car?" „Me? Into your car? Better not." He did not move. „Go, go!" Henry looked at me. „What's your problem? I am basically a good guy." „Just do as you please." He suddenly stepped on the gas; the car started sverving on the wet grass for a moment, then it stopped. I stood still when he got out. With an indefinable expression on his face he stepped towards me. „What's that gonna be?" „We got to talk." With a suprised look I stared at him. „Got we?" Henry nodded. I shrugged my shoulders. „Why did you avoid me the whole last week?" I did not know if he was serious. Motionlessly he stared at me. Rain was falling on his body. Then I answered: „After what happened last Saturday, I got something better to do than caring about you!" „Is it important what was last week?" „Obviously not to you." He came into my way. I crossed my arms. „Immediately let me go and stop follow me into the library all the time and stop being on my nerves!" „Are you realising anything?!", he screamed into my face. I opened my mouth, closing it again. Henry shook his head, walking to his car backward. „No...I don't think so." With no word more he got into the car and drove away.
