My Light (A Jerza Fanfic)

~Chapter 2~

-Mirajane's P.O.V-

I've been friends with Erza pretty much my whole life, so when her toxic and abusive boyfriend, Aaron broke up with her, I was happy. She had dated him for so long, always doing as he asked, but she never got anything in return. He never thanked her or even said 'I love you'. He was, to put it frankly, a heartless bastard who didn't deserve to be happy.

Erza, on the other hand, deserves the world. She deserves to be with someone who loves and cherishes her, not someone who drags her down alongside him. 

But unfortunately, I don't think Erza felt the same way. After her breakup, I thought she would cry it out for a couple of weeks, and eventually get over it, but I was very wrong. Her sadness started the moment he left, and didn't get any better for over a year. Then, I finally dragged her out of her apartment, and took her shopping to get some decent clothes. 

While we were walking to the next store, she bumped into this cute guy and he totally asked her out. Not gonna lie, I was kinda surprised when she said yes. 

Now, I'm hiding with his friend, who's this tall, muscular, and very hot blonde guy named Laxus. We're watching from the other side of the cafe as Erza and the cute guy who's name turned out to be Jellal, chat over a cup of coffee. It looks like it's going good, but I've known Erza long enough to know when she forces a smile, and every time she smile, it doesn't look very real. Seeing her like this breaks my heart. My girl deserves to be happy in every way possible.

But even if her date isn't going that good, my unintentional one is going pretty great. Laxus must've realized that one, I'm a girl, and two, I'm very hot, because he's started to flirt with me with the cheesiest pickup lines ever.

"Hey Mira, are you a magician, 'cause whenever I look at you everyone else disappears." He starts. I just wave him off, saying we need to pay attention to Jellal and Erza's 'date'. But Laxus keeps going.

"You know, I'm not a photographer, but I can picture you and me together."

"Oh hush, we're gonna loose them if you keep this up!" I snap, but not angrily. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda liking this attention. Laxus seems to notice this too, and keeps going.

"Do you know what my shirt is made of, Mira?"

"Oh I know this one. Let me guess, boyfriend material, right?"

"You took the words right out of my mouth! See, we're perfect for each other." 

I roll my eyes. "You don't even know anything about me." 

"Yeah I do," Laxus protests.

"Okay then, what are three facts about me that no one else knows?" 

"Umm... you're beautiful, you're hot, and you're playing hard to get with me." Laxus smirks confidently. 

"I already know the first two and the last is just a big fat lie. Try harder next time, okay?"

"Oh, so are you implying there will be a next time?" Laxus asks, with way too much confidence. 

"In your dreams, pretty boy." I say, starting to get up. I saw that Erza was starting to get a little anxious to leave and I gotta help a girl out. 

"Do you think I'm pretty?" He asks, attempting to flutter his eyelashes delicately, and failing miserably. 

"Yeah, but you already know that. Okay, I'll make a deal with you, if you can tell me three real things that no one else knows about me, I got on a date with you. Deal?" I ask, ready to leave. 

"Deal!" Laxus grins.

I walk over to Erza, a little smile creeping up onto my face. 

"Hey Erza, hey cute guy, how's it going?" I say as I walk up to them.

"Oh hey Mira," Erza says looking up.

"Oh, umm h-hey.. do you really think I'm c-cute?" The cute guy, aka Jellal stutters. 

"Yeah, and I'm sure Erza does too, right Erza?" I ask, turning to her.

"Oh stop it, Mira," she says starting to get up. I giggle and help her put on her coat.

"Well, we gotta head out, cute guy, but we'll catch you later okay?" I say, winking at him as we start to go, leaving him a blushing, stuttering mess.

"Why do you have to do that to every guy you meet?" Erza groans. 

"Because it's fun!" I giggle. "But don't try to change the subject, you like him right?" I tease, poking her annoyingly.

"I  mean he's a pretty nice guy, but I don't know if I'm really ready to date anyone yet, you know?"

"Come on Erza, it's been over a year since your breakup. You need to get over it! Put yourself out there! Don't be shy, he really liked you!" 

"No he didn't, he was just being nice.." she said, trailing off. 

"Guurl, you are so wrong in so many ways! He is totally head over heels for you! You just gotta give him a shot!" 

I really hope they become a thing, because I've been building their ship since their first hello, and I am not going to break it down now!  They'd better become a couple!

Heyyy my fellow Jerza shippers, it's been a while! Sorry I haven't updated any chapters for a while, I've been super busy with my other books! But don't worry, I'm going to rotate between all of them, so updates will be more regular from not on!

Also, I'm sorry this wasn't very Jerza focused, I want to take their relationship slow, and still expand on the other relationships in this book. I personally really loved writing this Miraxus scene, but don't worry more Jerza stuff is coming up!
