What do you do when you find out that your boyfriend is cheating on you?
Step one: Read a good book for at least ten minutes. As I said in the last part, reading for just ten minutes can calm you down by up to sixty percent.
Step two: Gather all of the information you can. Try to meet the person they were cheating on you with. Did they know that he had a girlfriend? Were they nice? Were they mean? How long have they been seeing each other? How often? Are they still seeing each other? Was it because you were doing something? Try not to overreact. Try to stay calm.
Step three: Get outta there. Don't stick around. The last thing you need is to hear their excuses. You should probably break up with them. Staying near that situation could keep you from processing this in a healthy way.
Step four: Talk to a trusted adult. Let them know what is going on. Get their support and advice.
Step five: Cry it out. Letting those tears fall will release tension, stress, and self-blame. Eat some comfort food, and then you need to move on. look forward, not back.
Step six: Get some physical activity in! Exercise is a great way to calm yourself down. Take a hot shower, and watch a movie.
Step seven: Go to a doctor. You need to get checked for STIs because you cannot be confident that they used protection.
Step seven: Don't blame yourself! don't let this affect how you think of yourself. You are amazing.
Step eight: If you so feel the need, go to a therapist! Never bottle up emotions.
