You know Hyuckie, they do say...

Sitting beside the wishing well with his mother was Donghyuck's favourite pastime. He would stare into the clear water and wave at his reflection as he listened to the strings of his mother's harp throb.
Castle duties were stressful for the mother and Son as she was a concubine, one of many, and despite being a prince, Donghyuck  had chores to perform.

When the pair had time, they would take quite strolls to the smallest garden out back. Not quiet as luxurious as the others, it was only rarely visited by the gardeners every so often and as a result it was overgrown. Wild daisies sprouted from the sides of the small rock shed tucked perfectly into the corner, vines of ivy slithering inbetween each slab of stone.
The dulled path of stone becoming thinner each day as the grass swallowed the sides lead the duo to the small clearing in which there were stairs that lead to an overgrown well.
Lily of the valley flowers reached up from the base; they went up to Donghyuck's waist back then. Two white wooden chairs sat by  the well, the paint starting to chip off, it did now and then.

Donghyuck and his mother sat as often as they could to sing with the well and the harp and the birds. He distinctly remembers the day where his mother told him why they sing with the well.

"You know, donghyuck, they do say that if you wish into the well, thats all you have to do. And if you hear it echoing your wish will soon come true."

Donghyuck would never forget that as long as he lived. Not long after his mother told him that she passed away. Donghyuck was broken of course, he was still young, around eight or nine.
His father, the king, decided he would live in the royal quarters of the house as a prince rather than a highly valued servant.

The lessons Donghyuck received were brutal at best but he was thankful, because of the title he was given he had the power to control the happening of a certain garden in the back of the castle.

He continued to sit by the wishing well and play the harp. After his mothers passing the well never sang back and yet donghyuck continued to sing.

Even to this day at the age of 18.
