"Here you go, enjoy your food." I handed the customer his bag and he sent me a thank you before walking out.
"Girl what time you get off work?" Lani asked over our FaceTime call.
"Not until tonight." I sighed walking to the back to sit down.
"Friend you been working a lot." She said with a pout on her face.
"I know and I'm the only one working today but I need the money. I just hope all this is worth it."
"It is, when you on everybody Tv screen and all these hating ass hoes be jealous. Ima be screaming 'that's my mother fucking best friend' at the screen as if you can hear me." She said as the bell on the door went off indicating someone walked in.
"I'll be right with you." I yelled from the back to the customers. "Okay girl let me get off this phone and take care of these customers." I laughed at her silliness. I put my phone up and walked to the front. I saw a dude and a light skin girl already sitting down.

I walked to their table, pen and pad ready to take there order. "Sorry about the wait, are you guys ready to order?" The dude looked up and I notice it was Toosii. "This what we doing Nau'Jour?" My arms dropped defeatedly. He looked between me and the girl speechless as she looked confused. "You know what, dont worry about it." I walked off.
"Wait wait wait" He got out his seat running behind me. "Listen Mercedez it's not what it looks like."
"Mmcht really Nau'Jour, that lame ass excuse. You for everybody, get the fuck out my face."
"I'm not yo last nigga watch how you talk to me but I'm not for everybody."
"You and Eric just alike, he cheated on me and here you is out with another bitch." I pointed to the girl and she was walking out the door.

"Mmcht can we just talk so I can explain." He pleaded as another customer walked in.
"No, ion got time for this while I'm at work. Get yo shit and leave." I waved him off, fed up with the whole situation. "Hello, what can I get for you?" I put on a fake smile and greeted the next customer and he walked out.
Hours later I was finally off work. I was beyond tired mentally and physically. I grabbed my bag and cut off all the lights before walking out and locking the place up. I pulled out my phone to call Lani. "So you gone act like youn see me?" Toosii yelled from across the parking lot. He'd been sitting out there in his car since he left out the diner earlier.
"What do you want?" I walked over to him.
"To talk." He grabbed my bag from me. "Let me explain myself."
"Then talk." I rubbed my hands through my hair.
"Let's sit in the car." He opened the door for me as I got in. He set my bag at my feet on the floor then closed my door and got in on his side.

"First, I wanna apologize." He grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it. "I shouldn't have been out with another girl knowing we was fucking with each other the way we is."
"Period." I interrupted.
"I was really starting to feel you so I started fucking with her to hide my feelings instead of facing them. I made a mistake and Basically what I'm tryna say is, Im sorry. And if you give me another chance I promise it won't happen again."
"You forgive me?" He looked me in my eyes and slowly brought my hand up to his lips again.
"Okay." I whispered as a smile crept on his face.
"You forgive me?" He asked again grabbing my face by my chin pulling my face to his, placing his lips on mines.
"Mhm" I nodded.
"I'm sorry mamas." He pecked my lips a couple times.
