Title: Dementia

Pairing: Ssuto (Ssundee and Seto, I believe)

Suggested by: laikabosshill on Wattpad

Original Prompt: "Ssuto? One of my OTPS (even though I love Setosolace... idek) :P"

Genre: I dunno. Angst?

Warnings: Dementia, obviously. My family has had a few issues recently, and I felt like writing was the best way for me to get through it (plus, I got a fairly well-written oneshot out of it :D).

Word Count: 528

Ian sighed and looked down. It wasn't as if Seto could help it; no one could really help it (except maybe a legitimate doctor, but Seto refused to see one of those). Really all Ian could do was sit down and take it.

"Seto, I- I-I told you, I didn't-"

"So, what, do you think I'm lying!? Do you think I hid the sleep medicine bottle!? Why would I do that? Why would I hide one and not the other?"

Ian winced. "S-Seto, I'm not saying you're lying, I-I'm just-"

"No! Stop! Why would I even do that? If I didn't want to take my medicine, why wouldn't I hide the whole basket rather than just one of the bottles?" Seto chuckled dryly. "Why, for that matter, why didn't I just sell 'em? You can get a lot of cash for that stuff, I could've just gone into town and sold it!"

Ian sighed, crouching down by Seto, who was on the floor. "Seto, baby, listen-"

"No! No, you don't believe me! Of course you don't, you think I'm lying! You don't love me anymore, you said it yourself!"

"I-I- I never once said-"

"No, you don't love me! You've even slapped me once! How do you think that feels!?"

Ian's eyes widened. "Seto, I never- please-"

"Why don't you just go spend time with Quentin? I know you've been seeing him behind my back, I know you have! I'm not enough anymore!"

Tears pricked at Ian's eyes, and he tried his best to blink them back. It didn't work. "Seto, sweetie, I- We've been married for sixty years, Seto, and I love you more than ever. I-I'm never going to stop loving you. You always have been enough, you always will be enough. That will never change." He rested a hand on his husband's shoulder.

Seto glared at him and shoved his hand away, sobbing, "No! Don't touch me! Leave me alone!"

"Seto, t-this isn't right. I- There is no Quentin. I've never slapped you, never said I didn't love you anymore. And I promise you, I did not hide your medicine bottle, and no one else has entered this house in a week. Seto, darling- s-something's wrong. You need to see a doctor, o-or a counselor or something."

And Ian was right; something was wrong. Seto couldn't do anything about it, he couldn't help that his mind was slowly changing, taking control and doing and saying things that he didn't want done or said. He couldn't do anything about it. He was sick, even if he refused to admit it. "I'm perfectly fine," Seto hissed, wiping his eyes with his sleeves.

Ian sighed one more time. "O-Okay, Seto. Whatever you say. I- I'm going to go to town. Do you want anything specific for lunch?"

"No," Seto immediately snapped at him. "I can take care of myself."

"I-I wasn't-"

"Just leave me alone!"

Ian left him alone after that. He wished he could help his love, he really did, but there was nothing he could do.
