School is the most boring place in history, at least Lynn thinks. He wonders who came up with school. Why do they even need school, if they're going to forget half the things they learn.
"Lynn," he looked at his sister. "Lynn, you still sitting in the car why?"
Lynn shook his head; he needs to stop zoning out his been doing that.
He got out and locked the car. He placed the keys in the front pocket of his pants. "Let's go."
He drapes his arm over her shoulder. "Now, what you doing after school?" he asked. He always needs to know her whereabouts.
"Maybe I'll ask Caleb if he wants to go to the park," she smiled shyly. He hated that look. It breaks his heart, knowing that she's growing up. His baby sister is coming out of that protected shell. He hugged her. He knew this day would come. "Lynn, your hugging too tight."
"Sorry," he said. "Want me to drive you?"
"No," she smiled. "We are walking there; it's a nice day today."
"Alright," Lynn sigh. Maybe he'll follow them. To make sure Caleb doesn't do anything.
"Lynn!" He double sigh. Here came Hannah and her friends. "Oh, hello, Beth." He should think of a way to break up with Hannah because it's no longer working.
Beth didn't say anything. She just kissed his cheek. "I'll see you later."
Lynn watched Beth walk away. And the guys stare at her as if she was a piece of meat.
He glared. "What are you all looking at?" They all just looked away.
"Lynn, she's 16, let her live her life," Hannah said. "I have an idea, why not let Beth hang out with us."
"Sorry, Hannah, but I would rather see Beth hanging out with nerds and those boring type of people than with you," Hannah glared. "I don't want her looking like a miniature bar." Hannah slapped him and walked away; he deserved that.
He doesn't know where he got the courage to say that this could mean the end of their relationship. And he didn't care.
It's the truth Lynn would die if he ever saw Beth with Hannah. He won't allow his sister to be like Hannah, ever.
Lynn rubbed his cheek and walked around campus.
He spotted Beth talking to Caleb.
Caleb just smiled at her.
He and Caleb made eye contact, and he gave Caleb a warning look.
And Caleb gave him the middle finger. Thankfully Beth didn't notice.
Lynn was about to interrupt them, but Beth grabbed Caleb's hand and dragged him down the hall.
He frowned.
Lynn followed them; they stood in line to get breakfast.
Beth seemed talkative around Caleb.
After Beth and Caleb got their food, Lynn went and sat with them.
"Hello," he smiles.
Caleb glared.
"Lynn," Beth smiled.
Lynn just sat there, listening to Beth and Caleb talk about books, music, and anime.
And other random things.
What Lynn notice something about Caleb was this gesture he does with his hand; it's a bit girly.
Frowning, Lynn let it pass, for now.
